My 1.6VVT makes a bit of a row on first start. Always starts on third attempt or earlier.
I assumed it was the the dephaser and decided to live with it.. (£££!)

Megane 2 fitted carpet sets £12 !
After my epic 630 mile round trip (in a day), I've decided that the Megane isn't a pile of junk after all. So I've decided to sort out the jobs that were annoying me. Number one is the clutch, which I've mentioned elsewhere. Number two is the noisy blower motor. I have a second-hand one ready to fit...

Re: Clutch Issue?
No smell as far as I can tell.
It's not totally gone either, I managed to stall it this morning..
Looking like a new clutch, but I don't trust my usual bodger's to manage this one.. hence I was asking how much it should cost.

Clutch Issue?
So yesterday, I drove from "the mighty Redcar" (don't get me started on that), to Treforrest in South Wales. Did a bit of essential shopping, and drove back. 600+ miles in all. I did this in my Mégane mk2., with NO faults or failures of any kind. Despite 4 people in the car and it being ra...

Re: Got my jacket caught in the boot lock..
All sorted. I managed to free the jacket from outside the car. Didn't even damage it.
Central locking working fine.

Re: Got my jacket caught in the boot lock..
I can move the white plastic thingy from right to left (as in the youtube video ), but the bloody door doesn't open. It's actually the reinforced cuff of the jacket that's jammed in the lock. Pressing the button does sweet FA. I'm thinking of removing the inner door panel to see what's actually goin...

Got my jacket caught in the boot lock..
Threw my jacket into the boot and slammed it shut. Pressed the lock button on the remote. Car now refuses to lock. Except the boot, which will now not open. Says "boot open" on the dash. But it isn't. My jacket sleeve is jammed in the lock. I tried poking the white release thing on the ins...

Good luck

That's clever. Like it.

What does that actually mean? If you pop the plastic cover off the passenger door handle, insert the emergency key and turn it, it should open the door. No power required. Then pop the bonnet and charge the battery.
Sorted.

Re: Spare Key Card
Seriously, how hard can this be? There are two things involved: 1. Getting the central locking / alarm to respond to the keyfob. Question: does the car "remember" the code transmitted from the fob, OR do we need to "program" a code into the fob? 2. Getting the car to start with t...

Re: 2007 megane heater motor problem
If the motor is burning out resistor packs and connectors, doesn't that suggest it's buggered?
I'd try another motor (about £20 for second hand) before I started hacking the wiring..

Re: Shaking
Mine does it too, but not always. Usually when engine is cold. Clutch is slipping a bit on mine, so probably that in my case.
