Re: First & reverse gear problems & brake fluid leak
After a bit of investigation it seems like it might be the clutch slave cylinder. Anyone know if these are within the gearbox or accessible externally?

Re: First & reverse gear problems
I've also noticed that the brake fluid was low, does this serve the clutch as well?
After having a look I have brake fluid leaking from somewhere in the engine bay as its damp on the undertray, are there any common leaks I should look for first?

First & reverse gear problems & brake fluid leak
Megane 1.5 dci 86 2007 Since I've had the car the clutch has always been heavy, garage advised it was probably worn. Anyway the last few days it occasionally been getting difficult to get out of reverse or first when parking and sometimes difficult to get into gear as well. It seems fine in all othe...

Re: Poor heater on feet position
Well I had much warmer feet this morning, I think it was a case of the filter being filthy and full of crap and also not fully pushed in to the heater. I hope it only improves once I put a new pollen filter in there.
Thanks all for your help.

Re: Poor heater on feet position
It has a pollen filter dated 12 so I'll replace that, it was filthy but cleaned it out and it went in tighter than it came out so hopefully that should help. Couldn't see much under the dash to see if the heater position engages properly but it works fine on the other positions so assume it's fine.

Re: Poor heater on feet position
Only had it 2 months or so so can't comment on summer heat. I had the blower on 4 and could just about feel heat with my hand, I think I have a blockage or something's not engaging fully. Must be time to delve into the footwell and see what I can find. I've not checked the pollen filter so will have...

Re: CD player
I've seen the error cd message on mine, it held onto that cd for months before spitting it out, maybe there is one in already.

Re: Boring fuel economy question
Interesting, last oil change was June and the car is telling me 5k to service maybe I should do an oil change and see. Three tyres were new just before I got it, fourth has about 5mm all are ditch finders however. I'm not driving it hard, over half of my commute is at 70. Interesting graph, so at 70...

Boring fuel economy question
I've got a 1.5dci 86 which has done 116k which I use for my 18 mile commute on mostly A roads part duel carriageway and a bit of country lane. It's averaging about 48 mpg, is this about right or should I've getting more? I drive at the speed limit and notice at 70 I could do with a 6th gear to drop ...

Poor heater on feet position
Does anyone else have this problem? It takes a while for the car to come up to temperature maybe 7 miles or so, I then get good heat to the screen and out of the dash vents but very little if any out if the feet vents. Any hints on what to check?

Re: tyres for cabrio
I can't comment on these particular tyres however I have budgets on mine, they came on the car. I've always used premium tyres. It's not just safety, although as the tyres are your only contact with the road should you scrimp on them? I don't think so. This car has been ruined by budgets tyres, it h...

Rear parking sensors
My megane has rear parking sensors, when I put it into reverse it sounds a continuous beep. Any ideas on this problem or do you know which fuse I can pull to stop the annoying beep whilst I investigate further?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Hello again
Well I picked it up at the weekend, oh dear, it needs a bit of work but should be fine once done. My advise never go back to a car you've owned before, especially the car you used to own. Is there a diary section on here? It would be good to detail work and progress and also look at others. I've alr...

Hello again
I registered on here and was on here a bit when my wife had a 1.5dci 86 a few years ago. She bought it new in 2007, we sold this for a family estate car 2 years ago. Anyway long story but we are due to buy the car back shortly as it was too good an offer to refuse. We've not seen it in those two yea...
