Re: 1.9 Dci using 1.2 litres of oil for 500 miles
700 is petrol, 710 is dCi without FAP. Regarding your problem with oil consumption, you might have worn/stuck piston rings, worn tappets or dirty valve seats, especially if the engine you bought wasn't preserved properly. The other problem would be in damaged turbo shaft bearing (not properly instal...

Re: What spare's have you ?
Original CD player, front door interior handles (they freaking wear off as if that's what they're made for!), Megane fabric mats. That's it.

Re: 1.9 Dci using 1.2 litres of oil for 500 miles
1.9 dCi uses strictly full synth B3/B4, 5w40 or 0w40 (for cold climates). C3 oil (I suppose that's the Castrol 0w30 that you bought) is not recommended for 1.9 dCi, Renault dCi engines use Xw40 oil, unless they are equipped with FAP (in which case they use 5w30 C4, with exception of 2.2 dCi which is...

Re: 2006 1.5l 106 dCi turbo failing
dodger wrote:Hi guys,
Does anyone know where I can get a refurbished / remanufactured turbo for a 2006 Megane 1.5 dCi 106?
Also does anyone know what the likely causes of turbo failure on a car with 40k miles?
Thanks
Try e-bay. Most likely causes: low quality oil, bad driving habits.

Re: exaust system
Lambda/oxygen sensors. You would get a service/fault light with message INJECTION FAULT on your BC.

Re: Fuel filter
Fuel filter is inside the right wing, you need to take the wheel off and take off the front plastic inside the wing. Coolant should be changed every 5-6 years, preferably when you change the cambelt. There are 3 different types of filters on 1.5 dCi, make sure you have the right one.

Re: rattling dash
There is a known issue with the dashboard rattle when cold. Solution is to spray silicone spray under the windshield. Use a straw, or you'll get a mess on the windshield and the dash. Rattle can also come from the inside door handle (vibrating stops when you touch the door handle). Usually, the prob...

Re: Changing Oil Filter on Megane CC 1.9
I am due to change the oil and filter on my 2006 Megane CC 1.9 (FAP) shortly however it is a pig of a job to access the filter, and there is barely enough room to get the old one out or the new one into place (I have done it twice before). Does anyone have any tips on improving access? also the fil...

Neat. I wish you luck with this, but I don't think you'll manage to get what you're asking for. Anyway, good luck!

I'm not sure about the rear suspension either. Especially the shocks. The top mounting bit is a bit thicker in RS version.

Re: ANOTHER CHECK INGECTION ISSUE
I would suggest you take the car to a garage that has CLIP, original Renault diagnostics tool. They can plug it in, take it for a drive on the motorway and read the faults stored or not, and record all the parameters vital to the functioning of turbo, EGR etc. The fault you had (P2263) has to do som...

Re: 2010 Megane 1.5DCI - Blue smoke!
NB: I think the problem is that people do not observe the correct running in procedure: the engine should not be raced above 2.5k RPM or laboured in any gear until 6000 miles (or whatever it is). I'll observe the correct running in procedure when I buy a new one (1.6 dCi hopefully). I bought this o...

Re: 2010 Megane 1.5DCI - Blue smoke!
Well, the colour can be discussed. It is definitely more whitiesh than bluish in colour (than the famous blue when the oil is burned), and yes, it smells of not properly burnt diesel. I suspect sensors playing (MAF or coolant sensor) or something with the ECU and injection. @ Paddy: I would t...

Re: 2010 Megane 1.5DCI - Blue smoke!
I've got the same thing for some 50.000 miles now, and it happens only on startup, car's pulling fine, no oil consumption, no problems whatsoever.

Re: Issues and hopefully advice
A long story... I've read everything, btw. :D The diagnostics might take less time, but all the work done on the car is charged according to the specification. For example, a skilled mechanic can change cambelt in less than 4 hours, but you would still be charged for around 6 (as far as I remember) ...
