ABS mystery.
Just got the car back from MOT. New rear brakes. Here's what happens: Start car. Drive away. Brake. Bang bang, I can feel it through pedal. After about 25 mph, we get ABS and service light. But now no bang bang. Is this something simple like disconnected sensor? Taking it back tomorrow, but wanted a...

Re: Abs light
Rather than spend time kludging the dash lights, why not just fix the ABS sensor?
My ABS light started coming on after the (backstreet) garage messed with the brakes. Got it fixed, then it kept coming on intermittently. And then it stopped. I expect fun and games at the MOT..

Does the sensor need "coding" to the car management system?

Re: Keycard battery life - 24 hrs
Just answering my own question.. the battery in my key card is a CR2025. I have just replaced mine after it locked me out in bandit country (east Cleveland). I got in using the emergency key and started the car, drove it back to civilisation and bought a new battery from the only shop open on a Satu...

Re:
reset the service msg. look in the faq. The FAQ isn't correct. You need to put the card in, then press and hold the start button (don't touch the pedals), until the ignition lights come on. Then cycle the messages until the "Change Oil Now" message comes up. Now press and hold the reset b...

Why not just sell the manual car and buy an auto?

Re: Keycard battery life - 24 hrs
BTW, what IS the correct battery type for the Megane 2 key card (standard one)?
The manual skirts around the issue, suggesting you buy a replacement from the dealer. Yeah. Right.

Re: Keycard battery life - 24 hrs
I wouldn't risk removing the battery for any length of time!
I'd be worried that it would lose some crucial (RenaultSpeak for "expensive") setting..

Re: Changing indicator bulb
Oh My God!
You really need to dismantle the front end to change a bulb? FFS..
I am surprised there are so many still on the road - £100 each time a bulb blows? That would be about 1/5 of the car's value..

Re: Weird Locking behaviour again..
Sorry, we got our wires crossed! I meant the battery in the key card.. because it went apeshit when I got within range.. I agree with what you said about built-in obsolescence as well, and to make it worse, it will all have been designed by a committee, like everything in France.. Renault have alway...

Weird Locking behaviour again..
The Megane has started playing up again. Last night the locks went berserk as I walked towards it. Indicator lights flashing etc. I hadn't even pressed a button.. this is not the first time.. Did the usual - press lock and then unlock. All seemed OK until I switched the engine off and removed the ca...
