Re: Clutch biting point
I'd suggest you just leave it as it is and concentrate on lowering the consumption. What does this mean?[/quote] Just joking, 1.5 dCi has very low consumption, people don't believe me when I tell them how many km I can cover on a single tank. As for the clutch, I don't think it's w...

Re: WILL THESE WIPERS FIT?
I don't see why they shouldn't. You can check your own wiper connector/clip. It should be the same "hook" type. If it is the "bayonette" type, then you need Bosch A115S (more expensive).

Re: Clutch biting point
I still do not understand the notions "low biting point" and "high biting point". Some say that a "low biting point" is when you step on the clutch pedal all the way down and the clutch bites as soon as you start releasing the pressure on the pedal. Others claim that th...

Re: MEGANE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM.
Another important thing with aircon: compressor won't kick in (or will kick in and then shut off) if there is insufficient gas pressure/gas quantity in the system. Megane II AC system is notorious for leaks. Check if there is enough gas in the system (don't forget the compressor oil).

Re: Megane 1.5 de cat...
All 1.5 dCi engines have a catalytic converter. It is bolted on the turbocharger, you can see it behind the engine. Only (some of) newer K9K engines (Megane III) have a DPF.

Re: Oil light
Hi all I know this has probably been covered but as for real info can't find much. Right down to the nitty gritty..... Everytime I go round a corner, brake heavily or sharply accelerate my oil & stop light comes on. I know what the problem is as I had the same in my r33 skyline which I sorted w...

Re: dCi remap?
I recommend the tuning box because its so quick and easy to install, no messing about is needed with the car ECU, just plug and play. 1.5 dCi 106 after 133bhp Everything sounds fine, but the TL4 gearbox is not made for more than 240 Nm... And warranty does not cover DMF or transmission. Very expens...

I would walk away from it just like you. Especially if there was a remap. 1.5 dCi K9K 732/734/764 is not an engine that can be remapped without consequences.

Re: 2008 1.5dci Tech Run 30k miles
Check for leakage on the connectors on the injectors (return pipes), traces of rust on the front of the engine (indicates that diesel was leaking). Check for traces of smoke under the rear bumper. Hm... Can't really think of any other possible troubles. Mine has 88.000 miles on the clock and no majo...

Re: ESP retro-fit
You would need a different ABS/ESP hydraulic modul, over 1000 €, Renault would charge even more. You need also a yaw sensor (under seat) 400 €, and the sensor on the steering wheel €€€. Then you would need someone with CLIP to put everything together and reprogramme the ECU (if not the new ECU). Ver...

Re: Oil Advice & Recommendations Here!
One a bit more general question:
Can I (and why not if I can't) use Low SAPS oil in Megane dCi without DPF/FAP? For example Elf Solaris DPF C3/C4? Renault says that oil of grade w30 should not be used in engines without FAP.

Re: Oil consuption too high
Well, finally a engine flush with Bardahl engine flush and then serviced the car with Unil Opal 5-40W full synth with the spec RN0710 like the manufacturer recommends. Well, the oil consuption is still there, nothing changed. next step, piston rings, valves, etc etc...it will be hard work for an en...

Re: Lots of carbon in EGR valve - every 2 weeks
I use 10W-40 but it is very confused some recommend 5W-40. 10w40 is not good enough for 1.9 dCi. :no Your turbo might suffer serious damage, intake, EGR and lots of other systems on the engine as well. Your next oil change should be with full synthetic PAO group IV 0w40 or 5w40 oil and OEM filter. ...

Re: Lots of carbon in EGR valve - every 2 weeks
What oil do you use? Try changing to full-synthetic oil with PAO base oil from group IV (0w30, 0w40). Cleaning PCV could also help.
