Avoid Arnold Clark down the M62 - Wigan/Warrington - clearly have issues with anything with moving parts.
Try Chorley - not heard any bad reports - do you need an independant or main dealer ?

Re: Renault Wolverhampton
..........wait until the warranty expires and then decide...............?
Its all very well when the parent pays, but when its down to the owner and the bills become excessive for numerous problems and the dealer maintains an up helpful stance - you'll appreciate which side he's on!

Re: Key card locking
Ah the pleasures of owner a Megane........... I have a Nov '03 car with Comfort Pack - so it has the keyless entry/start locking. The buttons on the handles seem to wear out with use. Much to the amusement of my colleagues I usually lock the car with the switch on the "Renault" emblem on t...

Re: End of a nightmare
Rovy, hopefully I'll be joining you next Spring with off loading 2. The thing is, the knife is further twisted with the hopeless main dealers - a change in their attitude would soften the blow of depahsers/windows etc - but it does n't does it ?

CJ - search this site on the front windows as the earlier cars had problems with them - worst case is the motor at £ 300 at the stealerships
It won't fail the MoT on windows - I've had one not working on mine for 18 months now

Re: Clutch replecement on my Megane
Totty - have friend who has put 99,000 miles on a driving school car before it went. Suspect you are just out of warranty - even so you should still contact Renault UK through the UK website and let them know whats gone - if you are sufficiently pursuasive they will contribute to some or all of the ...

Re: The dreaded "Keyless Entry"
Adamski, have 53 plate with Comfort pack which gives keyless entry. Hands free entry works, but some of the buttons to lock do not - suspect they are worn out. The boot one still works. I did have a similar problem in warranty - just as the frosts started - local stealership fixed it straight away a...

Re: MPG - 1.6 VVT
Doogie - have misfortune to own two reggies. Been to Cornwall in wifes cc (1.6) - reset trip, got around 44 mpg, for 700 miles. Travelling at m ways speeds and a tad more - this usually does 32 round town. Have 53 plate 1.6 - it does an average of 38 mpg around town/work - regular m way work and dri...

Re: Toxic fume warning light
Isaac - basically petrol (presume its a petrol car) is getting into the exhaust system as its unburnt. This is because one of the cylinders is n't firing - this is as a result of the coil pack - aka spark plug has failed. Search this website for toxic fume and you'll get all the info you need - stra...

Re: COLLECTING MY MEG TOMOROW!! WOOO
Check everything that moves and everything electrical.... Being serious - try all the windows, hence the reference to the door pockets. Also run your finger across all the brake discs to see if there is a lip at the outer edge. I've just had my dics changed at 50 k miles as Renault have a wear crite...
