Re: Injection Fault & STOP 1.5 DCI

Cool.
Just a thought... The pump could have been damaged by low-quality fuel or misfuelling. If the stuff in the tank looks like diesel, it may make sense to add to it some 2-stroke oil, just in case.

Re: Injection Fault & STOP 1.5 DCI

Right... If the injectors can be cleaned, which I never attempted, then replacement of the pump and cleaning the rail plus any relevant pipes may work. The tank is isolated from the pump with the filter, so its cleanliness is not critical. Regarding cleaning. Even a single tiny piece of shavings may...

Re: Injection Fault & STOP 1.5 DCI

It's bad luck, although still better than no resolution at all. Renault workshop manual in such cases recommends replacement of the whole fuel system including the pipes and tank... Regarding the tank: it's an overkill, because of the fuel filter. As the filings managed to get into the fuel tank, th...

Re: Useless headlights - help.

Halogen H7 give about 700 lm standard and 1500 lm Osram night breakers at about 3500K colour temperature. HIDs (not H7) give 2300-2500 lm at 4300K. The new LEDs can fit H7, brightness upto 2500 lm, colour temperature 3500-8000K to choose from. I haven't tried them though, but tempted. Regarding the ...

Re: Injection Fault & STOP 1.5 DCI

Hi Steve, Regarding barking at trees, there can be two such trees. First, the injectors in some, if not all 1.5dci are piezoelectric, which means high voltage and no direct current. I can't remember which engine uses which system, but this is all in the factory manuals in the sticky thread. I would ...

Millers 5w40 nanodrive CFS nt. The guys from Millers say it is suitable for road, just don't attempt long service intervals (longer than a year). It's ester based, cleans the engine, the nanotechnology reduces friction/wear/temperatures. For women choose Millers 5w30 EE nano - long life, suitable fo...

Re: Megane 1.5dci stalling intermittently

I can't find the codes 2096 or 1669 in the manual. For the existing codes please refer to this book: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/355lr8566hrzhbg/AAAcdqkgIbnyMgfYEcWKsytwa/MR366MEGANE1.pdf?dl=0 The generic code readers usually return codes in the format P####, which can be translated into the notation...

Re: Check injection

This literally means check the injection computer for stored fault codes. Injectors are only a part of the whole system.

Re: Banning internal combustion engines

Yea, Leaf's 11.5 seconds are not bad compared to... some other car. I think, its strength is commuting in start-stop traffic in summer. A couple of winters ago a South African owner of some sustainable energy company (it was still global warming at the time, now reversed) crashed his Leaf in our old...

Re: Banning internal combustion engines

Exactly my point! The advocates of the ban are the mayors who are all socialists, while the mayor of Madrid is actually a communist and the mayor of London is, how to say... Can we use opinions of somewhat less evil people? Here we go.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-38170794
