either water in the electrics...check the headlight bulb access hole on the passenger side inner wheel arch is firmly sealed.
if you haven't driven thru water or not rained recently then it will be just the battery is duff. If it's still the original then it's time to get a new one anyway.

Re: Toxic Fume Filter Warning Light
Also It no longer starts with the clutch pedal depressed, just the brake. that will be a loose wire on the top of the clutch pedal that connects to the sensor. for the engine light, it does sound like cam sensor so should be ok to drive, could be a faulty new one, or a wiring fault, or maybe just n...

Re: Megane v's Front Light Bulbs
osram do a longlife bulb with a 3 year warranty, i think it's called ultra life.
there are specifically designed for cars that are hard to change the bulbs on.

Re: Starting problem
it is a cambelt change plus dephaser which the part was £130 + labour when i got mine a couple of years ago. if youve already had full cambelt kit recently, it will only need a new belt which will cut the price down a little. most of the cost is labour, so it's down to the hourly rate of the garage ...

Re: Starting problem
its a very documented issue with the 1.6, search for dephaser in the search area. it's essentially part of the variable valve timing (VVT) gearing on the front camshaft, requires a new timing belt kit as well, so if it is that it is not a cheap fix. you can start by looking at the common issues post...

Re: Instrument Error
if it is water ingress in the UCH has it got in via the inner wheel arch hole for changing the headlight bulbs (passenger side). if the cover is missing then this is very likely the cause of the gremlins, you would need to remove UCH and WD40 and let it dry out slowly.

Re: Starting problem
does it have same issue when starting when warm / cold ?
can you hear any "grinding" noises on the first attempt ? - if so probably the dephaser.
if not then start with cleaning the throttle body.

Re: MEGANE STARTING PROBLEM
the engine light is not just toxic fumes but is telling you there is a issue with the engine management. it's needs a code reader to pin point which sensor. if your in AA/RAC they will do it for you free, £40 from a garage, or £90 main dealer ( or borrow / buy one from ebay). my "guess" wo...

Re: Megane Scenic 2005 1.6 air con problem
Kwikfit should initially test the system and only replenish if it is working as they guarantee that it will be cooler or your money back. assuming the system is not leaking. with the car running (and air fan on) and you press the A/C button you should hear a "clunk" from the compressor eng...
