Re: rear wheel bearing ?
Deni, just paid < £ 100 for rear wheel bearing. Surprised as I've just had new rear discs (10 k miles ago) and they have new bearing as part of the fitting.
Easy job for garage - spent a month driving round before it was sorted (1 k miles) but if you are keeping get it sorted asap

Alex - run your finger along the brake discs to see if they are lipped. If you can feel an edge (around 50 k miles) you may need new ones - with pads these are x2 £ 300 at main dealers or 2/3 that at independents

Re: problems with doors locking and management light
Jaime, I guess you mean the buttons to press on the door handles ? I've got a 2003 Megane and they do work intermittently. Although at the moment only one has failed. Seems its a common failure and the fix has been posted on here several times, for me, the next owner can sort.

Re: Exhaust - bearings or what ?
Mattie - thanks for reply. think I'd jumped to conclusion before Christmas - niosy car - 6 year old exhaust etc. Had car on jack this am (Suday) and spun all wheels - the rear passenger is at fault - grinding when spun. But as I've had new disc and pads all round Spring 2009, the rear discs come wit...

Re: knocking noise
Mez, dunno the exact circumstances you are reporting, but note that one of the plastic switches in the steering wheel boss routinely fails, so when you turn the wheel iside the car you will hear a clicking noise inside the cabin - is this it ?

Just used them this week. Normally use a closer bigger chain based in Scotland. Whilst it was inconvenient to get to them - leave work early, get a bus etc they were very competent. In particualr for a car 6 years old they did n't take libertys with suggestions of extra work. Work carried out on tim...

Stu - if through the wheel arches via the access panel. You juts have to be very patient. This can take me anything from 5 mins to 90 ! Fix at the dealers - remove the bumber - and £ 38. I though Halfords were no longer doing this as they know ts too harder a job !

Alan, Have 11/03 car with Comfort Pack - so i've had these buttons for the last 6 years - since year 4 they all work intermittently. Although touch rust - only the rear passenger/drivers side is u/s at the moment. I suspect its just wear and tear as its the side I use most that seem to be the most u...

Re: dephaiser ??? 1.6 53/04
Nigel, rough idling at low speed on start up from cold. A blip on the throttle usually sorts it out as you move off. Mine went at 26 k miles and the car was 40 months old - I was surprised at the time the young person on the service desk knew what was wrong stright away - now I'm not! Dealers charge...
