I have a fault code P0420 description that the Catalyst efficency is below the threshold.

My catalytic converter was only replaced a year or so ago with a brand new one. Do you think this could just be a faulty O2 sensor instead? And will it help using something like Cataclear?

I would try contacting Renault direct and complaining to them because when they built the Megane they used Dephasers that had not been properly tested and were made out of cheaper poor quality materials, namely aluminium instead of steel which they did to try and save money.
