Re: Electrical Fault
How easy is it to remove the scuttle panel? How do you get that off once removed wipers Before going to the trouble of removing trim and panels, locate the two drain holes and use a piece of wire/flex to poke between the mesh and down the drain holes. That usually does the trick. If the drain holes...

Re: Electrical Fault
My first port of call would be checking the two drains under the scuttle panel' you have to remove the wiper arms and then scuttle cover to get to the drains, if these are blocked it usually allows water in to the foot wells, also check that both covers are there for changing the head light bulbs i...

Electrical Fault
Hello. My Megane hasn't broken down for slightly more than 14 months now, however last week I had a big problem. My air-recirculation flap I believe has gone and hasn't been working for a couple of months. I believe it is in the closed position though I may be wrong, it may be trying to constantly o...

Re: P0420 Catalyst Efficency
John, My only thoughts are: why did the original cat fail? And, are you driving a diesel or a petrol model? Dave hi. I have no idea why the original cat failed but the bloke said that the honeycomb type membrane on the inside had started distintegrating and crumbling up. I am not convinced that thi...

P0420 Catalyst Efficency
I have a fault code P0420 description that the Catalyst efficency is below the threshold.
My catalytic converter was only replaced a year or so ago with a brand new one. Do you think this could just be a faulty O2 sensor instead? And will it help using something like Cataclear?
Thanks,
John

Re: window goes up and down in small increments?
It needs calibration after cycling the power. Lift it up - keep the switch up for 5 sec. - lower it - keep the switch down for 5 seconds. It is all in the manual in the sticky thread above this one. I checked the 0850C Adobe file on the Front Electric Windows and there doesn't seem to be anything a...

Re: window goes up and down in small increments?
Thanks. Not sure which sticky though? I don't see anything above this in the problems board stickied and to do with this issue?

Re: Strange noise when startup, cuttig out Help?
I would try contacting Renault direct and complaining to them because when they built the Megane they used Dephasers that had not been properly tested and were made out of cheaper poor quality materials, namely aluminium instead of steel which they did to try and save money. They are fully aware of ...

window goes up and down in small increments?
Does anyone know why my passenger window would be going up and down in small increments? I'm sure there is something I need to do to reset the window to get it back to normal? Or is it bust again and I just need a new regulator?
Thanks,
John
Thanks,
John

Re: fault code clearer & ignition coils
Will an ELM327 work okay on a 2008 1.6 VVT petrol Megane? I have read on these forums where references have been made to "CANBUS", what is CANBUS and is it the same as an ELM327? Also, what is the acronym UCH for? Presumably this is the engine managment system? Hope someone can help. Rega...

Re: fault code clearer & ignition coils
Are there any handheld independent ones that you dont connect to a pc and software that can both read codes as well as clear them and doesn't cost too much? I dont have any access to laptop that I can borrow.

fault code clearer & ignition coils
My car has lost power again so I think this time its highly likely to be either coil 2 or 3 that has gone and need replacing. I know I have at least one good coil out of the two I replaced last time, will have to figure out which one then I can save a few bob and just replace one of them I think. Do...

I have the Service light lit up on my dash and the engine management light/toxic fumes warning light. I have connected up my ELM327 and pulled off codes P030x $7A in one program I used and P0301 in another. I believe this relates to cylinder one misfire due to failed ignition coil which I replaced a...

Water in door pockets
Hi. I've had this issue for a while now of rainwater getting in. I actually thought I'd solved the problem because two separate garages are meant to have fixed the issue by resealing the speaker area to prevent it coming in but it seems the first garage didn't do this because my right door still get...
