Re: water in footwell

the water will be leaking in from the bottem of the door trim where it goes against the door frame. most cars have a plastic membrane behind the door trims to channel the water out the drain holes in the bottem but renault don't use membranes and just glue the door trim to the door frame. if the glu...

Re: Steering column pinch bolt location???

i think i have the same noise. i thought mine sounds like a plastic cracking noise from around the dash area, worth checking top strut bearings. open the bonnet and get your wife to do the same as before while feeling and listening to top off struts, if it comes from there that is your problem which...

Re: megane steering lock fault code

i've heard that the steering lock only releases at the end of several checks which from memeory is the ecu checks the keycard that must match the steering module and the ecu coding. if any of these does not match up the vehicle will not allow the steering to unlock and the car to start. i presume th...

Re: megane steering lock fault code

hi i presume your electric steering motor failed and you fitted a second hand complete column. if thats correct you either need to swop the steering lock module from your old column onto your replacement one as this item is coded to your ecu and keycard. if you need to use the second hand module you...

Re: problems and no fault code

have you checked your fuel pressure. could be a faulty pressure sensor on the injector rail. certain egr valve faults can cause very similar problems. you would have to check if the petrol version have on as i know the dervs do and vauxhall use them on there petrol engines.

Re: What exactly do I have to wiggle to make it stop!

i would advise not to unclip the plug while the engine is on, but what were asking you to do is just the same as unplugging it as in the loom you need to wiggle there is a poor connection that only makes contact when in the correct position so hence why it's the same as unplugging it. the wire that ...

Re: OIL LAMP PROBLEM.

sounds like a possible earth problem on the ecu.
best taking it to a auto electrician, he could also check to see if the sensor is working as it should,

Re: Steering column pinch bolt location???

when do you get the clunk. the steering rack on the meganes is very lightly designed and if you jack up the front and do a track rod end check you can wiggle the wheel on the other side though the rack which most cars won't allow you to do.

Re: check injection/turbo problems

everybody seems to think these problems are just a renault problem but we keep seeing the same problems coming up on other brands too. the turbo in the f9q 800 is a garrat gt1749v and it is also used in golfs, volvos, nissians and many more. there is a way of checking the voltage and resistance on t...

Re: check injection/turbo problems

Re: check injection/turbo problems

i would first check that the vnt rod is readjusting every time the car is started. you will need to get someone else to start the car while you watch the rod. secondly the boost pressure sensor could be at fault giving the ecu false info. the maf sensor could also be at fault but this can only cause...

Re: check injection/turbo problems

i know that when the car is about to start the rod should have a quick self test style movement tomake sure it is in the correct position. another problem you may incounter is that when revving the vehicle while still idle you do not produce the same level of exhaust gas and use less fuel and air th...

Re: check injection/turbo problems

hi these turbos do not have a waste gate. the actuator rod is infact used to control the variable vane inside the turbo. this solanoid that you mention is part of the same system. the more vacuum detected by the solanoid from the intake manifold the ecu adjust's the solanoid to move the actuator rod...
