Having read through this again you may want to call renault uk back (and back it up in writing) explaining exactly what meganeboy has pointed out - the car has only covered 22,000 miles and has only ever been worked on by authorised renault techs so either the fault is down to faulty renault parts o...

Well, turns out there's nothing wrong at all. On the way home last night, the light was off, and stayed of this morning on the way to the dealer. Thought I'd better get it checked out anyway - they couldn't read any fault codes from the computer apart from "a few very old ones", so they have reset ...

Re: Heater control illumination
Renault will only consider the illumination failing as a warranty issue if the backlight is by LED's, not standard lamps. Renault want to charge 2 hours labour to check and see, so I need to do it myself. Excuse me for being dumb here but erm Renault built the damn thing, they should know wether it...

It is still under warranty luckily enough and I was tempted to just change the coil anyway but the second fault code reading has me concerned that the coil replacement wont work. Also I'm pretty sure that when the coils really are defective that that the engine management light flashes - pretty sure...

I hate to agree with you because the Megane is a lovely car when it's working properly. Unfortunately I just can't live with mine anymore because I'm sick to death of the constant breakdowns and electronics failures. My Megane is 2 years old and has already broken down 6 times, had the AA out 5 time...

Hate to say it but I have the same problem, lights on but no missfire. I had the AA read the error code off yesterday and it was reported as missfire in cylinder 3 (even though there was no noticiable missfire). The AA reset the error code and suggested if it comes back to take it to the dealers. We...
