Re: Bleeding Brakes !!!!!

Hi Phil, when l do brakes l find it best to first let the fluid fill up the system on it's own just open the nipples. Then bleed each wheel using the top off a kitchen cleaner spray to draw it through. You just need to find a bit off rubber pipe to fit the spray end and nipple, spray into a clean ja...

Re: Windows on convertible: work from console switch but not individually

Hi, further to the above, having got mine working the other day, today my window went down whether pressed up or down. I saw something on line and it worked ( least for now ) Sat in the car and double locked it. Unlocked it, opened the door, started engine and then the windows worked again. I've a s...

Re: Windows on convertible: work from console switch but not individually

Hi, just been working on my windows ( again ). They are very prone to connection problems at the temics and it's been a long wet winter. I can only advise to clean thoroughly all the connectors for the temics, costs nothing but a pain l know. Got mine working ( again ) can only hope you do too. Bet ...

Re: Replacement clutch Question

Hi, if you've done clutches before, there's no reason why you can't do this one. I do my own work as l can't afford not to. It's good to have someone to help, specially when putting the box back in, unless you've specialist equipment. Having said that, l some how managed plus you've got better weath...

Hi,
if the hand brake has too much travel check first that a cable hasn't snapped.
It's adjusted inside the car under the centre console.

Re: intermittent problems with selecting first and second gear.

Hi, are you sure you didn't drop anything down where the cables connect when you worked on it. The way to see if it's to do with the clutch is to switch engine off and see if the gears select easy then. If it's only when the engine is running then that points to the clutch or fluid. ps were the kids...

Re: Right side indicator

Hi,
probably a bad earth but you could test the live using another bulb earthed to the engine or battery.
The front lights do tend to have earth problems, had to renew the earths on mine.
Good luck

Re: front shockers and spring

Hi,
it's a good idea when confronted by this kind of query to put your reg no into eurocarparts or carspares ltd and see what comes up.
Then do the same for a petrol car on say, gumtree or ebay and see if the same spring comes up.
ps l think they're the same, but good to check.

Re: Check Injection System 2010 Renault Megane Expression Dci (86)

Hi Ben, if you want to know what this is or maybe fix it yourself you need to read the fault code stored in it's computer. The guessing game can cost a fortune. There are cheap code readers on ebay etc, but if you need to get one, get one that reads the body computer also. The first time you use it,...

Re: Renault Megane 1.5 DCI MK2 - auxiliary belt snapped.

Look up megane engine fusebox on you tube for info, it's a battery and tray out job.
Also check underneath the fuses for burnt wiring.
Good luck

Re: Clutch

Hi, mine isn't high, about in the middle. To test the clutch, put it in 2nd gear while standing still, hold the foot brake on and while giving a few revs let the clutch out and see how quick it stalls. If you haven't noticed any slip and it's driving good, it could last a long time anyway. Good luck...

Re: Bleeding Brakes !!!!!

Hi, don't forget on the nipple, if your impact socket is nice and tight, even boiling water might do it. There's nothing in the almost useful Haynes manual about the clips on the metal pipes but see if they will lever away or if it's a rusty screw I'm sure you will ease it out and find a way to secu...

Re: Bleeding Brakes !!!!!

Hi, as for the bleed nipples and if they haven't broken them off or completely rounded them , l usually find a good soak of wd and a gentle warm up they will give, using a small impact socket. A normal spanner's no good. ps you can bleed from the brake pipe if it will slacken. You could even warm th...
