Re: Roof / doors lining coming off

I can't believe (well I can) that some rogue disinfectant can cause this type of problem. Surely not?

Has this been documented before?

Re: Need help on Fault Codes please

Capture the raw data - you should be able to reset the mis-fire counter and watch it rise as the engine runs. I'm not sure exactly what kit you would need to do this, as I tend to use quite a few different things. The fuel trim ought to give you some clues. As for the knock sensor problem, this migh...

I realise that this is off topic, but out of interest, what aircraft are you certified on?

Possibly the throttle body, also the throttle position sensor, clutch pedal sensor, etc.

Get some OBD codes read, and have read of the manual (at the top of the forum).

Re: Front speakers: water shield (depth limit) removal [HOW

Respect for anyone who understands RMS and Xmax parameters! Thiele Small will give you more information, specifically, why you will not get good bass in a small room (such as a car).

As you might have realised, I know more about audio design than cars.

Great guide!

Re: Roof / doors lining coming off

Tom,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Are you talking about the paint on the outside, or the fabric (cloth/leather/etc) on the inside?

Cheers.

Re: Check Injectors problem continued

The 3k RPM issue is 'limp home mode'. The ECU has detected a fault which leads it to believe that revving above this amount could cause further damage. Obviously, you need to discover why this fault is triggered. You have looked at the OBD codes, which is more than most people do. My suggestion is t...

Re: Heater Resistor Plug Melting Help!

I haven't studied the design of the resistor on the Megane. What I will say, is that on some cars, the resistor heatsink is in the path of the airflow for cooling purposes. If the vent/filter is blocked, it has been known to overheat the resistor assembly. Therefore, I offer only the humble advice t...

Search for 'dephaser'. Sorry for the short reply, but this symptom crops up roughly once a day.

Re: Service interval/light question

As long as the service interval has not been exceeded by either time or date (take service interval to mean oil and filter change) since the previous one, you are fine to ignore the warning. This is unless you are on a reduced schedule to bed in the new parts, or because you are paranoid about the s...

Re: front suspension problems

Put a long screwdriver or similar onto various parts and the other end to your ear. Have an assistant move things around while you listen. The loudest sounding point is the area to inspect in more detail.
