Re: 1.6 VVT

I may have jumped the gun not knowing the year but still shop around anyhow. Mines an 05 plate and people want you to give them away. I've seen prices as low as £400 for similar to mine.

Permanent 12v to VVT solenoid, anyone tried it?

Hi,has anyone tried applying a constant 12v to the dephaser solenoid and if so what happened?
Theoretically, would it add power at lower revs or just stall and the dashboard light up.

Re: steering adjustment handle

Thanks for the reply, yes I did that but they all seem to sell the whole steering column.
I ended up negotiating for an unsold one on eBay and persuading the seller to just sell me the handle.
it's in the post :rock

Re: TDC sensor knackered?

I'm not sure that cutting the wires and soldering direct is a good idea. These are Hal effect sensors and work on magnetic displacement, when the magnetic field is distorted a voltage is generated causing a pulse. This pulse is what tells the ECU where the crankshaft is positioned. Now, I have never...

Re: Strange indicator problem... PLEASE HELP

Mine was similar but only one side. Fast clicking means the bulb needs replacing, so I went to my local autostore who happen to change bulbs for £0, if you buy them, and he just fiddled with connections from the front down side of radiator and voila! One working bulb, no need to change. Been fine ev...

Bit of a stab in the dark, but disconnect the battery overnight. What do you have to lose, just make sure that you have your radio code.

Seems to be the answer to most renault faults

Re: General performance question about pulling off.

So today I managed to snap my steering adjustment handle!
Sodding Renaults! Why oh why make a plastic lever with such a weak point.

Just when I was coming round to the idea that I could like this car if I tried harder with the :hug relationship

Re: General performance question about pulling off.

I'm glad its not just mine then ChrisM. Maybe, I expect too much. I already posted elsewhere on here that I gave up and bought a Fiesta but this car has some kind of uncanny grip on me and I can't seem to let it go. Like Christine out of the Steve king novel. :devil I have some holidays coming up an...
