sounds like you could have a faulty starter motor try tapping the starter motor with a rubber mallet and then try starting car if you don't have rubber mallet use the handle of normal hammer if the car starts after tapping starter you have a sticky starter and will need to get it seen to if it does ...

I do not think there is any way to tell which version of the hardware you have as for the laptop I keep an old laptop which is used just for can clip and some other obd interfaces I have this is usually preferred as some software on an everyday use laptop can cause conflict

the majority of window problems on megane's are usually down to the temic module on the window motor the module can be changed separately do a search for temic module on the forum to find more info

hi the connectors on the megane head unit have small clips on them which need to be pressed to release them they are usually standard iso connectors except for the dash display and steering stalk control which you will probably lose unless you can get a stalk adaptor for the sony unit

the megane washer bottle is usually on the drivers side at the front of engine bay with yellow cap
