alernator is a good place to start, had a 306 a few years back and that did the same turned out a duff bearing in the housing

who are the garage, kwik fit type company, franchised renault dealer, one man band my old 05 megane used to knock on bumps and eat tyres, had 3 sets of steering arms or track arms, go frm rack end to track rod ends and are replaceable get a 2nd opinion i.e franchised dealer, might be worth the cost ...

by the time the oil light comes on it's too late, I know its shutting the gate after the horse etc. but never trust electronics when it comes to oil etc. check at least once a week until you see a pattern i.e. it doesent like a drink consumption you're getting sounds ezxcessive neither of my 1.5 dci...

never heard a horn fail for being too quiet, how quiet is it ? locate the horn and replace it with one from halfords or ebay or if yr handy with relays and terminals fit a stebel nautilus, it's a compact air horn and have one on my gold wing frightens the life out of everybody, especially the sheep ...

In the end I have stripped the number plate lamps, soldered wire to the metal contacts/bulb holders and then using the half inch or wire showing through the tailgate used red crimp connectors to join the new wire to the harness after cutting off the connector. What a rubbish design, my car is just 3...

found the problem I think, both connectors at the end of the short harness that runs to the lamps are corroded beyond repair, in fact the pins on the new light have already rusted, the old light pins has one actually broken away through rust what a rubbish design anyone had to buy one of these harne...

both my windows were doing that, managed to fix passenger side by looking at previous fixes and finding this, drivers side ok for a day or so but now does nothing at all, think it could be switch ? if so what is the best way to get the switch panel out to try and spray it with wd40 or switch cleaner

so its likely that the break in the wire is where the loom comes through to the tailgate from the roof then , if so should be easy to fix, that will make a change on a Renault

well I've managed to sort of fix my leccy windows using the reset switch option given on this site, holding switch on when closed for 10 secs, seems to work ok on pass side but drivers side comes and goes now as to whether it'll work at all as for the number plate light all other lights work and doe...
