Re: New Megane II owner from Nottingham
Welcome to the club. Don't be too put off by the horror stories since many people with problems look to the forums for answers, whereas, people without problems are less likely to look for forums.

Re: The unknown
I checked underneath my rear seat and found nothing but disappointment. The number of times that I've driven my drunken mates home and none of them managed to lose any money down the back of the seat.

Re: Fuel consumption help...
I get around 37 mpg when my average speed is around 25mph or 34mpg when my average speed is around 19mph. The best I have had is 40.5mpg on a long run at around 47mph. Re: Alloys flaking/corroding.
I kerbed one of my wheels trying to avoid a dustbin wagon. I didn't have any witnesses so the council wouldn't pay for a respray. Is there a touch up paint stick which matches the colour of these wheels?

Re: Lost 'Spare' Key
The cars come supplied with 2 key cards. If you need to replace one you will probably have to pay a fair few quid.

Re: Alarm
Make sure the seat belts retract fully and that you don't have any air fresheners dangling down. If it isn't movement inside the car causing the alarm to go off, you will have to assume that there is a fault on the system somewhere that will probably require professional attention.

Re: megane coupe options.....
I've seen a 5 door Privilege 1.5 106 for £14,111 on one site so I think the deals are out there if you look. Any similarly equipped VW Golf would be a lot more new but would have a higher residual value after a few years.

Re: What oil for 08 1.4
Use a genuine Renault filter for the sake of your warranty. As for oil, you have a choice of 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-30 or 10W-40 to specification ACEA A1, A3 or A5.
