Re: The saga of the 1.5 dci delphi fuel pump!
Hello Maurice, the Renault original part filter is made by Delphi and is available from Ebay at a great saving! A non-original filter will not have the ball bearing but a similar plastic part and will not rattle when shaken. About the injectors; I have split, cleaned, modified many without recoding ...

Re: The saga of the 1.5 dci delphi fuel pump!
The first three photos are of the useless pump from ebay. The last photo is of my badly worn pump. Now, how come my engine has largely managed to run reasonably well for the last three years with so much swarf in the system with just the odd hiccup? We have all heard of cars (not just Renaults) that...

Re: Won't start
Hi Lee, a silly question but is there plenty of fuel in the tank? i am wondering if the low pressure circuit in your fuel pump has deprimed. It can happen if, for example, one of the little leak-off rubbers has come adrift or developed a split. Fuel drains back very quickly and empties the pump. Try...

The saga of the 1.5 dci delphi fuel pump!
80 bhp 2003 1.5dci 110k on the clock. Thanks to CLIP i have known for some time that my fuel rail pressure was low (650 bar at 200rpm cranking speed - injectors disconnected, spare IMV in use), should be at least 1050 bar according to Delphi. Looked around for ages but could not find a pump locally ...

Re: 1.5 dCi Alternator replaced (with a few photos)
Thanks for that info Fozberry but the ribs of your drive belt look very cracked, or did you change the belt when you did the job? When worn like that they can make a very loud whistling noise. There are two types - yours has six ribs, mine (being a much older model) has 5. And euser2, perhaps you ha...

Re: Cigarette Lighter Illumination
Hi Tony. Ciggy lighter illumination? Now that is an interesting little job - not! First of all the car handbook does not mention this bulb, which is ominous. The Haynes manual suggests that the bulb might be part of the ciggy socket and Renault should be contacted. Does not sound good. The following...

Re: Accelerator pedal sticking
CORRECTION!!!! Have just been outside in the dark and the wet with a torch and examined our mark 3. It is completely different to the mark 2!! In fact it seemed more compact and accessible than the mark 2 and there is easy access to the fixing bolts. There is no external spring visible so clearly it...

Re: Acc outlet not working - Cold/Water
As an addendum to my post, I see that the mark 3 socket sits on a vertical plane unlike the mark 2 which sits on a horizontal plane. Unlikely therefore that food and muck would find its way in under gravity! Just putting the record straight.

Re: Megane coupe w reg running hot coolant disappeared?
Not many mark 1s about now Tiff and I know absolutely nothing about them. I might be able to offer some advice though. Many cars have oil coolers that sit on top of the filter housing and are cooled by the engine coolant. Although made of stainless steel they do corrode and allow water to leak event...

Re: Accelerator pedal sticking
Hi Simon. Your car is a mark 3 and I have experience only of a mark 2 but there is no reason to think they will be different (but you never know!) Here goes. The pedal assembly comes as a single unit bolted under the dashboard. It consists of the pedal and associated metal work connected to the plas...

Re: Stop light problem?
Hello again. When you experienced this STOP warning, did the engine misfire or suffer any loss of power at all? The Delphi manual says (regarding this message) "The driver should carry out repairs as soon as possible..." Planning a long journey this weekend? Difficult to say without a firm...

Re: DPF cleaning using liquid cleaner
Thanks for responding (you would be amazed how many people don't!) I was hoping somebody else would reply but it was not to be. What I know about FAPs or DPFs can be written on the back of a postage stamp. As far as I am concerned FAPs are bad news and just something else to go wrong and what you ha...

Re: Weird tyre wear issue..
If the steering wheel is offset this is an indication that the track rod ends have not been fitted equally. Fitting TREs tends to be hit and miss, done in a hurry by counting threads or crudely measuring. I have, over the years, seen some dreadful examples of TRE fitting resulting in inaccurate (and...

Re: Stop light problem?
Hello there and welcome to the Forum. I am beginning to think this should be renamed "the 1.5dci forum" since problems with this engine exceed all the other variants. I can only attribute this to age and mileage wearing out the 1.5 engines! I am afraid there is no easy answer to your probl...
