Re: Pollen filter
It's a fiddly little job and not so easy as the mark2 (progress?). According to the Haynes manual it is accessed via a side panel to the left of the clutch pedal, held on by either screws or clips. Clutch pedal assembly has to be unbolted and moved to one side. Old filter has to be deformed when rem...

Re: Blown fuse?
Hi, the CC buttons of our 2009 mk3 are NOT illuminated. This is fortunate for you as the fuses in the engine compartment are not identified. Monsewer Renault does not want owners to know which is which. Not in the handbook, not in the Haynes manual, not in Renault dialogys! Helpful n'est-ce pas...? ...

Excessive side-to-side play in gear lever. 5 speed box
1.5dci 2003 110k miles. The gears all engage OK but there is at least 1.5" play from side to side with the gear lever in any position. A daughter who does not normally drive the car first noticed it and found it awkward especially when hunting for third. I must have got used to it! Having had m...

Re: Stop light , brakes light and more
Gary is your car a mk 2 or mk 3 (2008 could be either.) Petrol or diesel? Engine size? For advice to be given all this info is required. Does the car start and run? Airbag light could be broken clockspring (rotational connector behind steering wheel hub) ABS light could be a faulty sensor. To sort t...

Re: Knock sensor
Adam, yes in some places it is called an accelerometer and others a knock sensor - baffling. It is very rare for this sensor to play up. I have seen this come up on CLIP as a fault but took no action and the fault was never seen again. There is not a lot to this; no moving parts. First of all remove...

Re: Injection Fault & STOP 1.5 DCI
Perfick! You have certainly got your teeth into this problem Stevie. And the leak-off from the pump goes into the filter as normal to heat the fuel in there. If and when the fuel gets hot enough, the bi-metal strip will bend, the ball bearing drops down and leak off will be diverted to the tank via ...

Re: The saga of the 1.5 dci delphi fuel pump!
stevie, I have today looked over the mark 3 1.5dci and thought you might like to see what changes Monsewer Renault made around the fuel supply - all part of your learning curve. You seem to have an insatiable appetite for Renault knowledge and area quick learner! There have been quite a few changes,...

Re: Fuse box
Have you found the offending fuse yet on your mark 3 ? You are correct the UCP controls the reg lights etc. The car handbook mentions only the fuses in the passenger compartment. The Haynes manual (unlike the mk 2 manual) gives no details. In fact the Renault service manual gives no details either! ...

Re: Power loss intermittent
Cliffy, I wonder if you are suffering the dreaded brake switch problem as many of us have until some bright spark (not me!) sussed out what was causing it a couple of years back. I experienced these issues only a few weeks ago also. Arrive at a roundabout, dab the brake pedal, foot on accelerator an...

Re: DPF cleaning using liquid cleaner
That's very interesting Cliffy. I wonder how Marc, the original poster, got on? We have not heard from him for over 2 weeks. I thought afterwards about having seen clips on Utube where DPF is removed and washed with a pressure washer - with good results apparently. Did you have the guts of the cat r...

Re: The saga of the 1.5 dci delphi fuel pump!
Hello again Steve. Glad to see somebody reads the rubbish I write! I attach a pic of a dissected delphi filter. Here you can see the bi-metal strip leading to a nylon circular bit. This is where leak-off fuel returns via the spigot on the right. The ball bearing is inside this nylon bit. You can see...
