When it works its great, but it does have quite well known reliability problems, even with the latest cars (my 06 was starting to play up) One out of warranty I believe the handles are around £250 each  Having said the above it really is a great thing to have as the the Key Card on non ...

Agree with the above, infact unless they are very plain and flat they just wont fit or if they do it won't close properly

.. it too was not so good on fuel consumption, but better than the megan, a lot quicker and a lot more fun. Ehm, sorry, but I think I don't understand you. You choose automatic transmission with torque converter, which is commonly known with higher consumption and lower acceleration (especially wit...

Re: Megane 1.6 VVT

If I were to buy a 2007 1.6 Megane, would it be reasonable to assume that: 1. The dephaser problems are fixed. 2. The window regulators are fixed. 3. No more squeeling brakes. 4. Better build quality? Experience I had with my 06 Phase II 1.6 Auto to are: 1. No Problem 2. Windows rattled if half way...

You can also adjust the senstivity of them by turning the collar - higher number of drips makes it more sensitive.

Also remember on the pre phase II you have to reset them after you have switched off i.e. switch them off then back on again :)

Well my First Meg II 1.9dCi Privilege was near faultless for 2 years. I was an avid poster of positive comments on this Forum as like you, I too got fed up with all the negative posts that poeple would write. Then I bought another, a facelift model and it was a nightmare, so I got rid of it. It was ...

BTW I hope these cars are in a secure compound!

They are also on the door handles on Hands Free

Re: Hands free card...

Hi, Just a quick question on the hands free card. Where I work, you need to leave your keys in your car so people can move yours to get their own car out. So I'll need to leave the hands free card in the car so people can move it. Can you lock yourself out of the car by leaving the card in the car?...

Hands Free is only standard on the Privlege, but can be ordered on the Dynamique as part of the Comfort pack. It can also be ordered individually (I think). The easy way to tell is if you have a small oval button in each door handle.... it's these that you press to lock the car and when you come bac...

took it in today, they tried and hooked it up to the computer, but they concluded that it can't be done eventually. Does anyone know anything about this?? Have you tried pressing the lock button twice? One press will result in one clunk, two presses two clunks and the indicators flash differently t...

The click you hear is the compressor turning on and the whoosing noise is the aircon coling fan - its like an additional radiator cooling fan. If you look under the bonnet you wil see them side by side. I am surprised you can hear it in the car as I don't remember hearing it whne I had either of min...

Re: touch up paint for rub strips

My grey rub strips are starting to show the odd sign of wear and tear. Has anyone found a suitable paint match to use on these. I just need a touch up kit really but a spray will do. I used Hologram grey from a Clio we used to have and it was a pretty good match. The marks I had were pretty small a...

My first Megane Privilege had the blue reflective windscreen, but my second Phase II didn't and I found the aircon/CC to be much more effective on the later car. I know they made some tweaks to the aircon, so maybe thats why.

My experience of the ProActive gearbox wasn't a very positive one. Having to have a new gearbox fitted after just 3,000 miles finished my relationship with my Phase II Megane  However it did have strange operating traits before the trouble started, which after driving other Meganes since have...
