Re: Just bought a Megane II - with a few hassles..

On the positive side, I received the replacement filler cap cover, in the correct colour (MEG69), and it just clicked into place. Magic.
It was £15 (delivered) from eBay. My local scrappy was asking more than that for the wrong colour.

Re: Just bought a Megane II - with a few hassles..

Tried that. Unfortunately, there are two different units. One appears to be the aircon one, the other is non-aircon. My car has aircon, but I'm not happy about ordering either unit, waiting a couple of weeks for delivery (HongKong) and then finding I have the wrong one.. Damnit, I'm going to have to...

Re: Just bought a Megane II - with a few hassles..

remove the old resistor and check for part number then you can also do visual comparison with the ones on ebay Quite right. My problem is that I'm incredibly lazy, and that would mean doing three things rather than two.. :) Action 1: Faff about getting the part out. Action 2: Get a new part. Action...

Re: BE Automotive, Barnsley

I would have thought that if they were selling the car and it needed a cambelt change, then that would be included in the purchase price?
And since failing to refit the engine cover properly was their mistake, I would expect profuse apologies, never mind courtesy!

Lowering and spacers?

I've recently bought a Megane 2 1.6 with standard alloys. I was looking at it in bright sunshine yesterday and it occurred to me how MASSIVE the arches are.. The alloys don't "fill" the arches, and there's way too much gap between wheel and arch. What kind of lowering kit should I be looki...

Re: 2003 Megane MK2 Electrical Fault HELP!

This sounds a lot like my FIAT PUNTO.. that turned out to be a faulty transponder key / reader. (don't get me started on FIAT electrics FIAT=Fix It Again Tomorrow..) Do you have a second key (card) ? try that.. I wonder if the car has "forgotten" the card after being stood for so long? Jus...

Re: Repair Manuals and Electrical Diagrams (old thread)

You can download pdf versions of many Renault owners manuals for free, here: https://www.manuals365.com/mfgcat/renault_cars.html
I downloaded the Megane 2 2005 manual with no problems.
These are in English.

Note: You can't really view them online - it looks rubbish

I'm assuming you needed to use the key due to a flat battery, so you can then pop the bonnet and change or recharge the battery.
Without this backdoor method you would be stuffed!

ELM 327 OBD 2 Bluetooth thingy

I've never had a car that allows me to tinker with the system before, so now I've got a Megane, I've ordered a cheapo ELM327 sender that works with my Android phone ( from Amazon: click here.. ) I should be able to view and reset codes etc, without paying huge amounts to the garage. Does anyone else...
