Re: DCI Backbox

It definitely isn't designed as a soot trap so shouldn't affect smoke build-up. And there's a catalytic converter even on diesels nowadays which takes care of the emissions. So the back box shouldn't have effect on emissions neither. PCMIIW.

Re: Windows tinted, some help required!

A bonded screen is often accounted for 10-15% of the (torsional) rigidity of the body structure so is a vital part of the structural strength. So it's a good thing you've the proper stuff looked for. Your tint job looks great so far, you have my full respect! I had a few attempts at tinting in my yo...

Re: Brake Disc

I must say I have rather poor experiences on EBC Greenstuff pads. :( Performancewise they were OK on the Twingo, but the friction material parted company with the metal backing plates on all the four front pads, and they were no more than five years old! Never happened to me with any other m...

R55VYS already made the points there, also you might want to check this topic on the German Mégane forum: https://meganeboard.de/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7073 1st, 2nd and 4th pictures show you the RHS exhaust mount which is made up of three different part numbers: -Mount 1: 82 00 309 166 -Mount 2: ...

Re: 17" Alloys and lowering ?

the first post said 215 you said 225 thats the wrong tyre if its a 5 stud car On what ground? A stud pattern has nothing to do with the tyre size requirements. 215/45R17 just plainly has too low a sidewall, which in turn makes the outer diameter and thus the rolling radius too small compared to the...

Re: 17" Alloys and lowering ?

There's no rub, but the tyre size is too small (=outer diameter), 225/45R17 is the correct size for the Mégane II. I'd personally bite the bullet and spend the +£20 to get correct sized tyres. does the trye size change for you cause i over here most 4 stud cars or 205 195 or 175 tyre then the size ...

205/50R17.

Are you quite sure the spare isn't 205/55R16? Mine's factory-fitted with 17" Nervasports, but the spare is still a 205/55 on a 16" steel wheel.

It's actually plastic not rubber: a hinged cover flap for a 230V engine/cabin preheating system's electrical plug. Pretty much a standard piece of equipment on nearly every car here in the Nordic countries.

@wanda: No no, when the steering's on the left side it's on the right side.... OK, managed to find a new, unused, genuine 225 front bumper all of a sudden, even came ready factory-painted in the correct 676 metallic black! Unfortunately it had "been 'round the globe" a few times by t...

Re: 225 bumpers

Actually I couldn't find them as separate parts on the Dialogys parts programme as they seem to come supplied with the 225 bumper. But if you get a bumper that's missing them, they shouldn't be too hard to cut from a suitable flexible plastic. Here's a picture of an original extension piece, it's th...

Re: Phase 2 4 pot conversion...

What disc size are you looking for? A mild upgrade from the standard 280mm to 300mm is easy, just take a standard 300mm four-stud Scenic disc. Should have an identical offset to the Megane disc and bolt straight to the Megane hub.

Re: 225 bumpers

They're a straight swap, you'll just need to add some wheel arch liner extension pieces to fill the gaps at the lower ends of the bumper and the liners.
