Re: Should I

I'd want to double check the auto lights and wipers as they weren't standard on the Dynamique when it was made. Neither were folding mirrors standard (electric != folding, it means adjustable). It could have them as options, but they weren't standard - the mileage suggests a fleet car that wouldn't ...

Re: using an Aftermarket headunit with standard cd changer

Should be possible if the new head unit is compatible with the VDO-Dayton digital protocol that the standard head unit uses to talk to the changer. Connects2 or others might make an interface that will translate between other CD changer protocols.

Re: Automatic Wipers

As far as I know it's the same sensor.

Has the windscreen ever been replaced? If done incorrectly then there can be problems.

Re: Fuel Measurement

I wonder if an injector or whatever was blocked slightly then the ECU may mis-calculate how much fuel to pump in??? The only time I tried supermarket diesel I had noticably worse efficiency, although a single tank is a very small sample to go on. I always use Shell and every so often use V-power, bu...

On my first MOT in May they replaced a track rod (perhaps just the end - I can't remember now), so it might be common on a certain age of Megane...

Re: Fuel Measurement

Guess it must just be due to errors in the readings, it's a big difference though at 25% more fuel being used than the ECU reckons. Oh well! I'm still getting 55mpg so not all bad! I'm guessing that you're already using good fuel (non-supermarket) that contains detergents to keep everything clean (...

Re: Fuel Measurement

Any ideas where the ECU gets it's reading from? I think that would be my next place to check. My guess is that the ECU knows how much fuel has been used, as it has controlled the ammount of fuel being pumped into the common rail. So just keeping a total of the volume I suppose. I could be wrong as ...

So not a hardware firewall or router? I'd always be concerned that a virus or malware on a Windowx box could open a hole in a software firewall to allow access in.

Re: Fuel Measurement

I've regularly seen errors between the mpg on the trip computer compared to a spreadsheet of the fuel put in and milage driven. Usually within 3mpg either way. I think that the trip computer takes it fuel usage from the ECU (but it might not, I'm not invloved in the motor industry). I know on my fac...

Re: Not good not good at all

We'd need some more details as to the network setup and software you're running to be able to really offer much advice. Some questions: ⋅ Do you have a firewall? Router? ⋅ What Operating System are you using? ⋅ Do you use any virus scanner or malware detector? Potential...

From what you're saying the power steering looks to be not working. I think (but could be wrong) that the Meg II has electrical assistance, and thus able to tell you about it. I have no idea what you need to do to fix it...
