Re: Reseting service indicator

Here's a Youtube video showing how to do it on the Phase II which doesn't have the small button in the speedo bezel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPMflC4lxiA Hope that solves it for you. :) You're car being an '06' plate is probably a phase II unless it was one of the last phase I. Re: 1.4 petrol or 1.5 diesel 03/04

Diesel every time for me. £30 road tax, 62mpg and an unbelievably low insurance group.

Whatever you buy check the service history and make sure all things electrical work.

I miss my Megane, the Clio isn't half as comfy.

Just a coincidence?

Renault Megane is an anagram of 'Elegant Manure'.

When they named it did they know it would be good looking but a pile of s#*t? Or just a coincidence?

Re: Which Magazine slates Megane 2 reliability

On the other hand........... I had mine from new until it was seven and a half years old (with 45k on the clock) and apart from servicing the only thing I had to spend money on was one electric window module (£30). Best (and most trouble-free) car I've ever owned including Audi and BMW company cars....

Re: Megane 2 2007 headlights

I don't think they'll fit.
You have a Phase II Megane which has different lights and bumpers and grills to the Phase I.
In the UK Phase II was introduced in February 2006.
If you do a Google image search for Megane you'll see the two subtly different fronts.

Re: timing belt and brake pad change cost

I bought the timing belt kit and auxiliary belt online for £81 and my local garage charged me £124 (3 hours labour) to fit them. So £205 in all. ( I didn't change water pump as the belts were done due to age, 5 years old, rather than mileage which was only 24k). A water pump is about £25 and may add...

Re: Differences?

Feb 2006 officially, although there are Phase ones which were registered after that. Differences are lights, bumpers and style of alloys and the interior had different materials for the seats and white/blue lighting on the dash instead of orange. Those are the main differences that I can remember. :)

Re: Parcel shelf / 3 door - 5 door Help

99%. Same roof, same rear hatch, same rear seats. Never heard it mentioned that there are two different ones. :) Ask the seller, they may be able to confirm. Here's an advert for one that states it fits 3 and 5 door models. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-MEGANE-3-5-DOOR-02-08-BOOT-PARCEL-SHELF-ST...

Re: Help with Tuner list/Update list

I think they're all the same fitment but if the Cabasse optional stereo was fitted they may have been a higher wattage. But an Oasis had the std ones fitted originally.
