I agree with IainMW. You need an ACEA A3, (0-5)w(30-40) oil. All 0w... oils are proper synthetics (my choice) and most 5w... oils are "fake" synthetics, i.e. hydrocracked mineral oils. Fake synthetics are adequate for regular applications, but I prefer to spend extra £15 a year for a sort of a...

As I understand, the MAF sensor in a turbo DCI engine is mostly used in control and adaptive calibration of EGR, VGT turbocharger control and in the patented method of lag reduction. I, probably, missed a few items in this list, such as injection timing and the multiple injection mode... If it is di...

Yep, this is one of the myths in which many drivers believe. In reality the pads are touching the disks even when the brakes are disengaged, so the handbrake makes little difference. It is recommended to use the handbrake because (a) the attention span of an average driver is shorter than the period...

"Scary"? As it is not just a noise, but the actual braking is affected, then you should stop driving and investigate the problem. Remove the wheels and calipers first. If the fault is not obvious, then photograph everything and post here. I've read somewhere, that there was a batch of Meganes with d...

Yes, I am using Motul 8100 E-Tech 0w-40. It is a good oil, changing it every 9k, which is half-way between services. The blotter test shows that it is still good when drained, so it might go a slightly longer distance. The EGR valve is clean and the level stays constant within 9k miles. I do many sh...

ABS rings should be also installed. For this job you will need a long hub nut socket, a long extension/breaker bar and a powerful torque wrench. This is in addition to the "regular" tools. The calliper bolts require threadlock (it was discussed earlier). It is possible to transfer the old bearings a...
