Re: What is a dephaser pulley and what does it do??

Dephaser alters valve timing to help maintain good torque across the revs and improve engine/fuel efficiency. If it buggers up, as it will do, it becomes very noisy on start up and can cause starting problems and loss of power. You will still be able to drive it however. "only two types of Deph...

Re: Ive had enough!!!

I agree its down to whether you get one that was made on a Friday backshift or a Tuesday dayshift! Its your luck. However, I do work with both Nissan and Renault and although they are combined they have very different work ethics. To say a nissan is a renault because of switch gear is very simplisti...

Re: Ive had enough!!!

And there was me with a snaped drive shaft one year out of warrenty and Renault did every thing in their power to see it right. Replaced nearly every componet in that corner of the car without charge and have given me a clio in the mean time. I cant fault my 2.0 VVT and i'm so impressed with custom...

Re: Key Cards

Do this to about half down both sides of the cardkey (to about where the emergency key starts) Prise open and hold open, you will see a copper coloured coil of wi...

Re: stalling from cold or warm

does the fuel pump start when electrics are switched on ?, if so you can just start the electrics (just push and hold button without pressing pedal) leave for a few seconds for fuel pump to prime fully, then start the car normally. might prove your theory ? Yes it does come on for about 1 second. I...

Re: stalling from cold or warm

I am now convinced that the stalling problem (outside a rattling dephaser) is caused by problems with the fuel delivery first thing after a period of no use i.e. overnight parking etc.. As i have said in a previous post, if i start my car and cut it off before the engine starts and do this 3 or 4 ti...
