Well tried switching on ignition 1st then starting....still the same!
Will remove fuel pump and inspect and strip down what I can.

does the fuel pump start when electrics are switched on ?, if so you can just start the electrics (just push and hold button without pressing pedal) leave for a few seconds for fuel pump to prime fully, then start the car normally. might prove your theory ?
