Re: Can I fit the original projector headlamps to my Megane?

Be advised that those control boxes should be from another Renault. They are also used in other brands, like VW, Porsche, Saab and Chrysler, but those boxes will not communicate with the car although they appears to be identical. I experienced this myself when one of my control boxes went dead (I ha...

How to fix window regulator?

Hello, The window regulator on the right side rear door has failed, and I tried yesterday to have a look to see what is wrong. However, I was unsuccessful in removing the door trim panel. I got the fabric (upper) panel off, but the plastic panel was stuck. The Haynes manual didn't really give any us...

Re: Dog guard

Thanks a lot, Paul :-)

Now, another thing - have anyone here ever fitted one of these and can give me some advice on how it is done? Any drilling necessary?

Dog guard

I am looking for a dog guard for my Sport Tourer and have found that Renault have a suitable one. But I find two different part numbers for this dog guard, one is 7711221516 and the other is 7711223963. I guess one is for the hatchback and the other for the estate, but which is which? Does anyone he...

Re: Headlamp Washer Jets

You need to remove the front bumper. The jets are secured to the bumper with a nut underneath. I think it should be a fairly straight forward task.

Re: wiper washer tank Megane II

You get to the washer tank by removing the front bumper. Not sure if you can buy just the motor, but think it should be possible. As I have been told, it is the same motor for front and rear. I could be mistaken on this one, but think it works by having the pump rotating one way for the front and th...

Poor radio reception

Hi, I've got a Update List Tuner unit in my 2005 Megane with very poor radio reception. I've heard some rumors about poor grounding being the cause of this, or a faulty antenna amplifier. Does anyone have a quick tip about what to check out and where to locate it before I need to replace the unit it...

Anyone fitted auxiliary driving light to their Megane II?

Well, as the winter is closing upon us and it is getting darker, I have started thinking of installing a couple of auxiliary driving lights (Hella, Bosch or similar) to assist the car's high beams. Low beam is OK as I have the xenon light, but high beam is still old-fashion halogen and I feel they b...

Re: Any high-mileage Meganes? A few thoughts....

Although this thread is a few days old, I'd like to share the mileage of a 2005-model Megane II 1.5dCi I recently saw for sale here in Norway. It was even an automatic and had been used as a taxi. The mileage on that car was 260 000 miles+! And still running...

Replacing Xenon head light bulb

Although there is a nice informative thread here about changing head light bulbs, I am now to replace the bulbs in my Xenon head lights. I was just wondering if anyone have done this before and have some experiences to share. This is the original Xenon lamps we are talking about and no aftermarket m...

Re: Bonnet wont release

Try to pull out that lever in the grille, you know that piece that normally pops out when you pull the release lever to open the bonnet. You may want to use a plier or something to get a good grip on it. Then, keeping this pulled out, try to lift the bonnet. My bonnet doesn't open the normal way eit...

Well, there are some writings on the back, but nothing to help identify the wheels though. Just dimension and ET. Thanks anyways, folks. :D

Need help to recognize alloy wheels.

Just putting my summer tires on, and came to remember that I am missing the centre caps for these wheels. So I need new such caps. I have looked all over the wheels, but can't find out which brand they are - could they possible be alloys from Renault themselves? Does anyone recognize them? http://i5...

Colour code on the bumper inserts?

Thinking of adding some aftermarket parking sensors to my Megane, thought I would place the sensors in the bumper inserts. Looks best that way, I think. However, the sensors are in black and I would like to paint them more according to the colour of the bumper inserts. Does anyone know the colour co...
