Re: Window Fail!

Does the drivers side switch operate the other electric windows ok? I've got a "tempremental" regulator on the drivers side but touch wood haven't had an issue for several months (watch it break now)!

The switch is the only thing I can think of if all the fueses are fine.

good luck.

Re: MPG - 1.6 VVT

Dougie - yes trip reset everytime I fill up (I like to compare the trip figure to my own maths to keep it honest) Chevin - your wifes was what I expected to see, especially as I just trundled along at 60 - 65 most of the time. Will see what happens once I've serviced it (will be doing this myself as...

MPG - 1.6 VVT

All, I've recently done a 300 mile run to Devon (car was loaded with holiday gear for 2 adults and 2 kids) travelling on mainly major A roads and motorway at a fairly constant 65 mph (couldn't be asked to go any faster and wanted to get the best out the fuel economy). Average MPG for the trip was 38...

Re: Store radio stations to memory & activate rear speakers ????

can you confirm the stereo model, it may be that it is set to auto tune/list and this is why you can't manually store stations.

As for accessing the menu function this is normally done by holding the SRC button for about 5 seconds.

Re: 04 Sport Tourer...many probs, here are just two!

rear electric windows run off a seperate fuse to the front windows, have you checked both? Sorry for stating the obvious, but just need to be sure. Is the child lock activated on the drivers control, do the window work from the drivers control? Short of that, welcome to the wonderful world of french...

Re: Sideways shake!

I've got the sport tourer and get the same thing, I wouldn't call it a problem though - more of a characteristic of the car. I've previously had pug 306's and these were renowned for being able to get the back end out, also known as lift off oversteer. The megane does have this, just not as extreme....

Re: Range when fuel light comes on

Every car I have owned has had the same issue with fuel guages, first half of the tank takes a while to work down, but once the needle is past the half way mark it drops a lot quicker. The miles to empty and the average mpg on the meg are quite inaccurate to be honest, manually working out the figur...

Re: wobbley gear stick

could be the gear linkages are a bit tired, any good mechanic should be able to check this quite easily with it up on a ramp.

Re: Changing wheels and tyres

can't advise on the wheel sizes needed, but 195/65 15's on etyres.com are £48 fitted. might be best to look in the forsale section for a set of alloys with decent tires on, halfords aftermarket wheels never look good compared to standard/optional OEM kit. P.S. To make you feel better, cheap (non bra...

Re: Rear Wheel tracking, N/S/R tyre gone after 7000 miles.

It could well be, although anyone changing springs/dampers and then not checking the tracking/allignment afterwards should be shot.

As Alex said get it into a decent tyre place for the tracking to be checked out.

Re: Starting trouble - Slight water leak

Sounds like a flat or dying battery, the windows will have lost the one touch setting when the powers gone. to reset windows close them, and keep hold of the buttons for 5 - 10 seconds they should then function as normal again. -EDIT - plus if you have been constantly starting and stopping car witho...

Re: Wrong model sticker on drivers pillar?

Quick check would be to stick your registration in an insurance site quote like Directline.com as these will match model and engine to the details recorded with DVLA (directline also put the PS power in the engine details.) If not try the DVLA website to see what comes up. Final resort would be to p...

Re: Can anyone explain this because I can't...

Hi, They sound like common faults and I have experienced a couple of them. Problem 1 - you could try removing the fuse for the front electric windows (with both front windows open), it's a 25amp fuse by the glove box. Leave it out for a minute then replace, then dead lock the car and see if they bot...

Re: 1.6vvt idle problems, dephaser pulley?

Mine has done similar, I've had the cam position sensor replaced as well but still having the odd start up problem. What I have noticed is when it does cut out and I restart I have to give it a lot of throttle to bring the revs up, this is always followed by a very dark cloud of smoke out the exhaus...
