noise only lasts for as long as engine takes to stop turning so it only lasts 1-2 seconds

Hi my megane has just done the same and the airbag and service light came on as well.I work for Ford at the Transit factory and the thing we get on the vans when this happens is the result of a faulty clockspring-the part behind the steering wheel that the indicator and light switch attaches to :( ....
