I understand your engine has been remapped? Remapping usually means more unburnt fuel (depending on how good your map is) in the exhaust. And that in turn means EGR valve will get more soot and it will eventually become clogged with oil+soot mixture. It is a good idea to check the EGR. Just remember...

All 2.0 dCi engines have timing chain. Whoever from whichever workshop told you 2.0 dCi has timing belt, should be avoided as plague, shot in the head by a rotten egg and *add yourself at will*.... :nut

That's it, plus the cam seals http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=4063&appid=2. It is a good idea to check the condition of the crankshaft pulley while the engine is out. If it's without cracks on the rubber body, changing it is not needed.

The auxiliary tensioner with the belt needs to be done, cause aux. belt is also driven by crankshaft pulley (which also drives the camshaft via cambelt). It is a good idea to change the alternator pulley as it can also give troubles. Some people also change the crankshaft pulley if the car has cover...

They most certainly should have checked for radial play in the turbo with so much oil in the intercooler pipe, and with broken intercooler pipe it should tell them about too high pressure, too. If they had checked, they would have probably advised fitting a new turbo. Now you can just pray that your...

Just done a quick service on my 1.6 petrol Megane 2 but I'm blowed if I can find the fuel filter, can anyone help ? It is integrated inside the fuel gauge in the fuel tank. Under the back seats there is a fuel gauge unit. Take it out and syphoon from there.

Thanks again :) any thoughts on that cabin filter ? it doesnt actually say it fits a 1.5 hatchback but it fits a 1.5 saloon , surely it should fit both ? It is the same, although I would go for a better one: MANN, Purflux, Fram... Those cheap ones are not letting enough air inside the cabin and get...
