Re: Stickies for fuel consumption

Hi!
Before you get into the dreaded Engine Management stuff, I'd check what tyres you're running (also pressures).

I have Michelin Energy tyres - quite expensive, but I think they're worth it - get 50mpg all the time, great longevity, and excellent grip.

Good luck!

Re: Reversing Lights and Sensor Intermittent Fault

Thanks, Tomalamix! :-P

Because it's intermittent, and worse when the weather is damp, I sort of discounted the switch.

But you're right, it's worth a look - will do so when the rain lets up! Poss the magic WD40 in the switch area will help!! ;-)

TA!

Reversing Lights and Sensor Intermittent Fault

I have an intermittent fault. If there's no 'beep' when reverse gear is selected, the reversing sensors don't work - although they sometimes start after a bit. Now I've found that when the sensors are not working, the reversing lights aren't working either!! As they've been fine all summer, but have...

Re: Window shuts TOO WELL and creaks!!

Sounds possible; but local Renault dealer didn't mention any such adjustment when I was jawing with them.

Re: Window shuts TOO WELL SORTED!!

Thanks for the input, guys! SORTED!! :D My brother suggested there might be something trapped in the groove that the window slides up into. There wasn't: but there's a whole mess of rubbery bits that accept the glass as it slides up (a result, no doubt of mods to cure the earlier model's 'integrated...

Window shuts TOO WELL and creaks!!

A variant on the 'Megane Electric Window' Saga! My driver's window (it's had a fair bit of use over 3 years) has started creaking when it's fully closed. It makes me think the glass is under stress - possibly the window closes too far, or the motor closing the window doesn't stop at all!! So: when d...

Re: 1.5 dci engine cover advice

Clumsy!! Now you know where the lugs are located, should be easier next time! Though I can't think of any reason why you should acutually have one in place - surely just cosmetic; plus Renault's 'subtle' method of saying: "keep your mitts off anything under this cover!" I'd wait unti...

Re: What tyres do you wear?

I've just got 3000 miles out of Michelin Energy - where do these screws all come from!!! :banghead Going for the same again - they've been great all round: grip, longevity, quietness, braking and, importantly, mpg ! Note that I have a diesel - they're heavier. On my previous 1.6 Petrol VVI I settled...

Re: 6 disc in dash question

Hey, Hilly! It's dark, so just had to go & see! My 57 Phase 2 has a Comfort Pack - includes 6CD Changer. It has the red pinpoint lights lit when it's in use, but also all the white lights come on with the sidelights. Whole centre console lit up like Xmas tree! 8) If you 'build your own Renault' ...

Re: Renault Key Card issues

Hi! This still an active issue? Was it very cold at the time? I haven't come across this in practice - but in theory all the key, wireless, circuitry could have been working fine; but one or more locks could have been physically frozen. When the locks thawed a bit, the system could have finally mana...

Re: parcel shelf

Hi, guys! 1) When you say the parcel shelf is located on the lugs - have you given the shelf a good push, so it Clicks, and is not just resting on the lugs?? (Yes, I know you have - sorry, sorry, just thought I'd ask the blindingly obvious!!) 2) If you work thru the Tech Spec of any Meg Hatch model ...
