Mine only does that when I haven't put it into gear properly, if I accidentally ift the clutch without pushing the lever the whole way into gear. I don't think it's normal to be doing this all the time. Sounds like the perfect excuse by the dealer to get away from having to diagnose the problem. Sim...

1 year and 7 months, and they both went on the same night! Spooky eh? But also very scary when you're driving along a country lane. Ended up having to put the front fogs on to see where I was going without dazzling the oncoming traffic too much. Got Renault assistance out to replace them (being a gi...

My tip - don't wear jewellery. I've noticed that when I wear a ring, it wears the numbers off. Same thing happened to my friend in her Megane after she got engaged!

Well the air con still works. I tried it last night, driving home at 4DegC. Not for long though. So from what was said earlier in this posting it's probably not a fuse then? I did wonder whether the cold weather might have had something to do with it. I might try to contact another Renault garage wh...

I thought I was imagining the better performance from Shell diesel. I've noticed that my Megane (06, 1.9 dci dynamique) runs much smoother on Shell fuel. Also noticed the same thing with Shell petrol versus Sainsbury's in my old 53 Clio 1.4 Dynamique. They just seems to drive much better withy Shell...

Regarding the car that locked itself during filling at the pump; my 53 plate petrol Clio used to do that occasionally. I put it down to the fumes from the pump somehow making a connection in the key which was in the lock for the filler cap. My Megane however, which is a keyless entry (which was by t...

Thanks for the link. I've got a service booked for 8 March, and I'll ask them to look at the lack of indication on the dashboard then regarding regeneration. Otherwise the only way I know it's due is when I lose performance (and you get a burning rubber smell from the car too). I tend to do about 24...

Thanks for the tips everyone, I'll try the air con tonight to see if that works (brrr). It may be a fuse because I've noticed that when the headlights are on I've got no illumination on any of the radio controls (not even the on/off button). However, the illumination on the 6 cd changer below is wor...

FAP filter keeps getting blocked

Since I've had my 06 reg Megane 1.9 dci from new, i've had problems with the FAP filter. After around 8 months I noticed when changing up a gear that I would lose power. Eventually there was a big puff of white smoke out of the back, and the car lost all oomph altogether. The Renault dealer said the...

Stereo completely dead

This morning when I started my Megane 1.9 dci (06 plate) there was nothing from the stereo at all. I'm sure that I didn't turn it off the last time I used it, and no amount of button pressing would get anything to react. I haven't got any error messages coming up at all. On calling the Renault deale...

My Megane (dci 1.9 06 plate) does exactly the same thing, but not every time. I usually employ the IT favourite of turn it off and turn it back on again. That seems to do the trick.
