Got car back today, one of the cables had snapped at he gear lever side, one cable was 70 quid odd but you can but the whole assembly for 104, opted for the whole assembly as saved time on fitting which outweighed the cost of the part. All now fine!

Yes, it is a manual. the gears have been perfect up until yesterday, my wife just parked up and then when she went back to the car to drive off they were all funny. I though it might be a slack linkage or a cable off but if all seems attached. not sure if it is at the gearlever area or at the gearbo...
