Mine was doing the same before I got the Cam sensor replaced, random cutting out etc. Your symptoms sound exactly like that

It's now doing it again although slightly more aggressively/frequently and it's a suspected TDC/MAP sensor.

I've got it back now, another £200 lighter with a new throttle body. He showed me the old one and it had worn down in one part significantly. 1.6 16v VVT and I get aroung 30mpg urban and about 35mpg on the motorway. It must be said though that I d have a fairly heavy right foot although I'd expected better.

That is quite ridiculous, Renault garages seem to try anything to rip you off.
