:-( Hi, had the car for proper checkup in connection with Cambelt change, checked all pulleys, starter and dephaser pulley. Ended up being the dephaser pulley (luckily that went under second-hand dealer warranty). Also flushed out cooling system and put original fluid on it (Type D), so now as good ...

Yeah, Megane suppose to have ELF Glaceol RX type D (green), at least the pertol engines, or ethylene glycol suitable for mixed metal engines. But do not mix Glaceol with monoethylene glycol, the system might get cloghed up and coupe heater might get broken. Got this from another forum. :D

I have the same noice on my 2003 MeganeII 1.6l, once in a while. I will probably get the starter changed, just to be safe (don't want the flywheel to go ...), then get them to do cambelt, waterpump and secondary belt, and check the dephaser pulley and teeth on flywheel at the same time. However, any...

The current brakelight is not so visible, and ...

You can try opening the boot of the car, by pressing that button underneat the rear door lower end. Alternative is to use the spare key and unlock the door, behind a small plastic thingy on the handle. I had the same problem, but that was beacause i left the lights switch on (no lights though) and t...

I spoke to the Renault dealer today, and they said it was probably more likely the starter. The car runs fine, no ignition or fuel behavior stuff. Couldn't it just be the starter motor? They also said that this noise is normal for Renault and happens especially when cold sometimes, just another oper...
