Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

Hi all just thought I'd add my expirence with my 07GT. I have had it from new and for 3 months behaved impecably. Then for no apparent reason started blowing blueish smoke on start up and the mpg dropped off dramaticly from 49 mpg to 39-40mpg, it has been back to the dealers on numerous occasions w...

Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

Our DCI 175 LUX has not smoked since we got it, no rattles, now at 3,100 miles doing 46mpg non motorway use, more "A" roads so there is something about some of the GT's that smoke, what it is I do not know but the overal quality of the renault sport seems much better, its all academic now ...

Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

WOW! What a great outcome, we have just brought an '08' 1.9dci megane and guess what, its gone back to the dealers after only five weeks and 2k on the clock . Problems started two weeks ago, car nearly cut out doing 70 mph down the 3rd lane of the m25; scary or what, then the car would not do more ...

Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

Fantastic result and hats off to the dealer for standing by you. I mean, that's what all dealers should do but unfortunately it's a bit of a rarity these days. The new car looks the muts nuts by the way 8-) We were lucky with Renault Seaward, they really do look after their customers, its funny, bu...

Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

What a great outcome, you must be really happy. New Megane looks brilliant, i want one :-( We are but as to will we stay with Renault, well that's another story, the next buy may well be Japanese unless the new style Meganes improve in quality drastically, but for now we have a great car and ...

Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

a beautiful car. at last renault looks after someone!!! Took a fight mind you, and a long one, but Shaun Perry did know his stuff and was constantly giving Renault UK an earful without his support it may have gone to court, which we said we were happy to do, after consulting a solicitor. When the s...

Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

The new car is a beauty thats for sure I think you have just been unlucky on the GT front, I still have mine and have had no further issues since the initial electrical issues. I am now almost 18 months into my 3 year lease having done 27k, I am now getting 50mpg and still no blue smoke. Would stil...

Re: Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

Just wanted to let people know that a year to the day after picking up our Megane GT we now have a Renault Sport DCI LUX 175 thanks to Seawards Portsmouth, who fought our corner and got us a replacement car, its running better than the GT ever did and we are getting 46mgp at 1500miles after about 6 ...

Thanks for the reply, we are going to ask for 175, after two GT's one thats now only doing 43 to the gallon on long runs with loads of issues and a new one that was broke before we picked it up, we wont have a GT again, as you said its a great car but twice bitten..... I'll report back after we have...

Megane GT 150 DCI Hell

Last year we bought a Megane GT 150 DCI, from the outset it had issues, blowing blue smoke, clutch making odd noises, water ingress into a break sensor, CD multi changer not working, then it went in for work, new clutch master cylinder, new Brake master cylinder and servo at 6mths old (one and the s...

We finally got a resolution from Renault thanks to the amazing help from seaward, due to the amount of problems with the car and the amount of blue smoke blowing, if we put a small amount of cash in, the car is being rejected and they are getting us a new GT built, all I can say is Renault Seaward i...

White smoke is fine but even after what Renault said to Boysie I'm dubious about blue, its possible the diesel is diluting the oil at start up and blowing past the rings, but really it should not on a new engine, Seaward tested the 175HP diesel and that blows no blue at all, anyway we will see what ...

Thanks Boysie we avoided the old Chichester dealership (Swan) as we had issues so went to Portsmouth, we are doing a 1000 mile oil test, ours had gone down to half on the dip stick at 4000 miles but that may have been due to running in or not being topped up properly at the start, they did an opacit...

I wouldn't say that, the actual build quality of our GT is better than the 54 plate Megane we had, the issues other than the engine are parts failures and I doubt Renault make clutch and brake cylinders themselves, there must be a third party who makes them for the company, so we have been unlucky b...

Well Renault have said there is a modification on the clutch cylinder pipes for the GT which they are doing and hope to have it ready by Friday, and if the cars engine has to be replaced after a 1000 mile oil test as they now know its not the turbo they will provide us with a brand new GT rather tha...
