230 F1 Steering clunk

Hi Guys and Galls Anyone come across this one? My 230 F1 ( 4300 miles ) makes an occasional clunk through the steering wheel when you take up the biting point in 1st or reverse. Doesn't do it if you're really gentle with it, however, didn't buy this thing to drive it like a 90 year old. Steering fee...

Welcome Rachel Hope you find a good one, and as mentioned previosly, go for as new as possible. That doesn't rule out problems however. I bought a new 230 F1 R26 in february for nearly £20k and the cluch master cylinder went after 100 miles. Now that was just a faulty part being fitted at the factor...

Thanks guys
Some sound advice there. Took it out the other day on some of my favorite B roads and had an absolute blast. May just go the exhaust and induction route to give a little more power but a sportier sound. I suppose at the end of the day; if it's not broke, don't fix it!

Thanks Jay Yeah, it would be good to know how they fair after a few mile under them post mod. It's the warrenty thing that bugs me. Mine's 8 months old with 3900 miles on it and if I chip it then pop an engine or gearbox, will Renault tell me to sod off and pay the bill myself. It's a great car as s...

Thank you all for you kind welcome. Basenji, not had mine on a track yet, but if what it's like on the road is anything to go by, then it will be a whole lot of fun. They did a hot hatch group test in EVO magazine and it wiped the floor with cars like the Golf GTi, Focus ST, Astra VXR etc. I'm happy...

Well she didn't really agree.. It went something like this: I didn't tell her, turned up at home with it, dodged the verbal, took her for a spin and put her on the insurance. Now she keeps asking to borrow it. Bugger.

Chipping a 230 F1 R26

Hello all Anyone out there had any dealings with K-TEC Racing, the Renault tuning people? Got a 230 F1 R26 and was thinking of chipping it and want to know if: a) Does it void the car's warranty? b) Is it really worth the effort or does it upset the balance that Renault have achieved with this car (...

Hello all, nice to meet you.

Hi evrybody, just found this site and thought I may as well join up. Bought myself a 230 F1 as a bit of a hooligan's toy. Have been a Honda man through and through for years, owning all sorts of fast machinary culminating in an Integra Type R (fantastic machine, a true drivers' car), however, new ho...

Hi Jay. Save some extra pennies and get yourself a 230 F1. A completely different beast from the 225: much tidier and progressive handling; limited slip diff etc.. 100% sweet machine. However, it's still a Renault and not a Honda, so expect some 'character'. ( The clutch master cylinder went in mine...
