The 1.4 seems to return poor figures in real world driving, I think because the Megane is a heavy car and the 1.4 is low on torque and so has to be worked quite hard. I get around 36mpg at an average speed of 23mph doing short journeys in built up areas if the trip computer is to believed. The best I've had is 40.5mpg on a long journey using motorways. You could check with your Renault dealer to see if you have the most recent software running the engine. cool w...

Ray - I hadnt turned the engine off yet!
