Re: Steering Noise
ive googled a bit and read something about a nut and bolt that may need re-tightened and then an adhesive applied to it? Does anyone know what bolt this would be? The only thing i can think it is would be the thing that knocks off the indicator, as the noise seems to happen at the point when the ind...

Steering Noise
Hi folks Ive noticed a click that sounds like its coming from just behind the steering wheel, it happens when the wheel is returning to the centre position after a right turn, and happens when the wheel is at about 10'oclock. Does anyone have any idea what it is? Its been in the garage a couple of t...

Re: rattling dash
my dash made a rattle when cold and i tried sticking small air freshners at each end (carplan do small red strawberry ones which were ideal), as the rattle went away when i pushed my hand against the dash, but eventually i found out what was really making the noise for me... The pillars that run up ...

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
The 1.4 seems to return poor figures in real world driving, I think because the Megane is a heavy car and the 1.4 is low on torque and so has to be worked quite hard. I think you could be right on that. i have an 2003 1.4 16v dynamique megane just hit 47000on the clock and usually average about 31-...

Re: Stickies for fuel consumption
Thanks guys, i'll do that soon, my MOT is this weekend, so prob beset to have a look before then. :) Changed my sparkplugs the other day, i think the previous owners must have hated the poor thing as they looked like the original ones (53 plate but only done 27000 miles) and now im getting 33mpg! wh...

Re: megane hatch 1.4 questions
I get around 36mpg at an average speed of 23mph doing short journeys in built up areas if the trip computer is to believed. The best I've had is 40.5mpg on a long journey using motorways. You could check with your Renault dealer to see if you have the most recent software running the engine. cool w...

Re: Rear Speaker Install??
I have replaced the rear ones in mine and it was not a completely trivial task... The correct size speakers are important, really deep ones wont fit. Next removing the panels.... Take out the rear seats and tip the backs down, you should see two holes in the panel these have torx T20 (i think thats ...

Rear of head unit Screw/Plastic/Thingie
Hello, Does anyone know what the Plastic cone thing on the back of the head unit is really called, the bit that keeps the head unit at the correct angle in the car? It sits right in the middle of the unit and ive seen on other cars it can screw off. I changed the original head unit to a Kenwood and ...

Ray - I hadnt turned the engine off yet! I think i figured out what it is, the handbook says that if changing the battery you must be sure to reconect a hose as an exhaust for gasses (from the battery) and whoever had my car before me has replaced the original battery (i know this as the new one say...
