Re: REAR PASSANGER SIDE WINDOW IS STUCK IN DOWN POSITION

Hi Kevin. The window problem is a common one and is caused by poor design of window seals which allow rain water to leak through onto the window regulator (motor) There are many posts about this problem including one just below yours. The cost seems to be about £300.00 but Renault accept that the ca...

Re: water ingress

There is a known problem with water getting into the doors via poor window seals. Because of equally poor design inside the doors this usually causes the window regulators to stop working (see previous posts about that) . The next thing you may notice is that the door pockets are always wet along wi...

Central locking

Excuse me for asking this, but if your car is a May 2005 model, i.e. less than 3 years old, isn't it still covered by warranty for this defect? Worth checking with the dealer again. I know he has quoted a price for repairing the fault but if you have not made it clear about the warranty, the b*gg*r ...

1.6 VVT stalling

Thanks for the replies and advice everyone. Would you believe that car is now fine and running perfectly? No hesitation or stalling.
I will take it in to a local (Non Renault) garage and have them check it over although how they will find what's wrong now I don't know.

Warranty worries

You don't say which branch of Dick Turpin, sorry Arnold Clark you are dealing with. If it is East Lane in Paisley, in my experience you are in for a rough time. I do not believe that they do a proper service but spend most of the time the car is with them finding small faults which fall outside of a...

Engine cutting out - 1.6VVT

Hi folks, can anyone help me with this problem affecting my car which is a 54 plate 1.6 VVT Tourer with less than 28000 miles. Tonight it started first time and idled at 800 rpm as normal for a few minutes. When I started to actually drive it, it was very hesitant and sluggish and eventually stalled...

Average MPH

Hi Steve, sorry I'm a bit late but only noticed this topic today. You are right, 25MPH does seem verry low for the journeys you describe but, if you haven't already done so, try re-setting the trip reading to zero and monitoring it again.

Regards,

Megane fuel consumption

Just spotted this topic. I have a 54 plate 1.6 VVT Sport tourer and on a recent trip from Glasgow to Oban I got 52.5 mpg. Earlier this year on a weeks holiday to Lossiemouth (up near Elgin for those who don't know) I managed 50.3 MPG over 800 miles so I am very pleased with that level of consumption...

Fuel consumption on 1.6 VVT

Hello all. Re fuel consumption, I have a 54 plate tourer and the worst ever consumption was about 30-33 mpg when I did a lot of short journeys to work or around town. On a longer trip, i.e. Glasow to York at Easter, I got 48.5 according to the computer. I have got over 50 mpg a couple of times but t...
