Re: Rear lights
It will be a bad earth which needs redoing. If you look at the light connectors, you will find an earth somewhere.

Re: alarm
I thought it might be but not at all, I just leave it in my flat and turn it on when I get into the flat - when I disarm my flat alarm. Hardly a hassle as it is just one button. It is a pager kit, with a transmitter and a little pager.

Re: alarm
Connected it to the alarm indicator feed, just turn it on after I lock the car and turn it off just before I return and unlock it.

Re: alarm
I added a pager to my alarm this weekend so at least I know if it is going off, even if i can't hear it.

Re: The Notorious Megane Battery
I have a 1.9 dci (the battery on which is large, but the cranking power to start is also much more than the petrol). I also have handsfree locking (which is a small drain) and numerous other gadgets which could possibly take power from the battery, yet it is always fine. I do a 1 mile commute and of...

Re: The Notorious Megane Battery
John, I don't mean to be patronising but the Megane has the same type of battery that all modern cars have, with the pipe being a vent only, nothing more. The battery is sealed to prevent the need to fill up the battery etc. My battery lasted 5 years, just as one would expect (life being 3-6 typical...

Re: The Notorious Megane Battery
Unfortunately that's a lot of talk for something that really isn't a problem. The car does not have significantly more drain on the battery that any other car with similar features. You have a problem with your specific car or battery sadly, driving as much as that the battery is plenty charged enou...

Needs sensors etc. too - not feasible, unlike cruise control.

Re: car won't start!
It doesn't really work like that on the Megane, due to the start button system. If you press the start button and everything just fails and sort of resets, it's the battery.

Headlight type
Just taking my Megane abroad for the first time. I am just checking, are the headlights "standard type" or "projector type"? I am guessing standard as they appear to be reflector optic headlights but have never seen the second type listed in the converter instructions.
Thanks

Re: How can I tell if it has ESP?
Yep, ESP is mainly for negotiating difficult turns at speed, where most people would typically lose control. However, in specific conditions, it can cause you problems, hence why in the vast majority of cars it is switchable (but will come back on at a certain speed). It compares intended direction ...
