Re: Window motor burnt out!?
Just by way of update, the new motor & regulator arrived on time via DPD. I got it fitted without any issues and it's A-OK. It was €21.90 (£19.68) delivered from https://rrr.lt/en in Lithuania, arrived in 5 days, had been properly cleaned, and was exceptionally well packaged. The part itself was...

Re: Window motor burnt out!?
I did the test over the weekend using my fairly beefy charger, and it immediately drew the maximum 20 amps with no movement on the motor. I didn't leave it in that state for long as I didn't need further evidence in the way of heat! So new motor en route (£20 including a regulator) so it's looking g...

Re: Window motor burnt out!?
Thanks for that. I removed the module from the motor altogether so there are only the two contacts to connect to. Are you saying that it normally heats up fast to that degree?

Window motor burnt out!?
After trying to start the car on an almost-flat battery which caused all sorts of electrical twitching on the dash/wipers/windows, I disconnected then reconnected the battery and charged it. Started the car, reset the windows due to the disconnect, and moved it across the yard to near the workshop. ...

Steering rack bush replacement
When I got my DCi last December, it had been SORNd for 2 years by the previous owner. He had however fitted new inner tie rods for its previous MoT (500 miles earlier) but when I MoTd it in 12/2019, there was a lot of play in both rods. I was frankly lucky that they were only advisories and have bee...

Re: Megane 2 rear close/lock mechanism: cable attachment?
Just for posterity and future generations who might encounter this unfortunate aberration of a technical issue, I formed my own solution after some thought, and implemented it successfully today. No war was ever won by being conventional, no progress made without being radical. That was the rational...

Megane 2 rear close/lock mechanism: cable attachment?
I'm trying to fit an offside replacement close/lock mechanism on my 2005 Megane 2 1.5 DCi Dynamique. I got the old one out easily including (blindly) detaching the short bowden cable nipple connected to the outside handle. Trouble now is that I am just not succeeding in re-attaching the new cable. I...

Do Renault publish their parts list (like PSA)?
I've had a search here but can't find an answer. On this occasion I'm after a dipstick (Meg 2, 2004, 1.5 DCi K9K) but as with other parts previously, suppliers websites aren't clear even with VRM or VIN. So anyone found a reliable parts list? Thanks.

Towbar/bumper question
I fitted a flange towbar yesterday on my 04 DCi but ran out of time to get the bumper back on. Can anyone please advise whether any cutting is necessary? Thanks.

Re: ABS/airbag lights on and more
So - some progress. I reset the working windows as suggested which nicely fixed that issue. Then one of the working rears packed up altogether, so I replaced the regulator on that and the dead front passenger window which happily fixed them. I have a new ABS sensor to fit as I found the old (nsf) on...

Anyone know the part number of the lights (actually just the covers) in bottom the door cards? Mine are oval and white. Thanks.

Re: ABS/airbag lights on and more
Thanks for taking the time with all the useful info and suggestions. I've done a bit of research on Can Clips and am a little wary of buying a clone which of course it would be. Having said that, I use a cloned interface with Peugeot Planet 2000 and it's fine so for bread & butter stuff, I know ...

ABS/airbag lights on and more
Hi there. Just bought an 04 Dynamique DCi 80 today to temporarily replace wifey's Pug 206 CC for the winter (it goes into dry storage). It's done 140k and has sat untouched for 18 months on a chap's drive. It passed its last MoT (18 months ago) with no advisories but then was taken off the road as t...

Evening all. :) Just bought a Dynamique DCI 80 today as a temporary winter runabout to take the place of the wife's Pug 206 CC which goes into dry storage. 1/10 of the Pug's VED is pretty welcome too! First Megane II. I swing spanners on Peugeots to keep me lithe, svelte, supple and in whi...
