I have exactly the same cause (flat battery hand brake release) for my Grand Scenic 1.5dci 2004 and the same message "Check Parking Brake" with the "P" symbol. I also want to try the same solution. I have also purchased an ELM327 OBD reader and like you, I can read the engine sta...
