The Mégane II Owners' Club

My meganr has decided to lock itself in reverse gear,, the stick will go straight up and down but no side to side movement at all. But as I say stuck in reverse.
Any ideas anyone ?

I cannot get in the boot to do check the blind , you cannot get in thru back seats , even my disc cutter is stuck in boot. Is there any way to lift it back manually ? If I can get into boot thru top I can check lock mechanism from inside.
I’m stumped and getting stressed .

My boot lid is exactly the same, I just start to open the roof and access boot space from the top.

Silly question I know , I have just bought an 06 Megane CC

how do you open the boot lid , all I can do is partly put the roof down to gain access to boot space.
Is there an easier way ?
