Can anyone recommend a good electrician (NW London)?

I need someone who really knows their way around a Mk2 Megane CC. Several systems have become intermittent and eventually stopped working in the last six months (key card, blower, some of the windows). It's not the usual suspects (fan resistor pack, window relay) and it appears to trace back to the ...

Re: Megane 2006 Dynamique hard top window problem

Okay - I'm not sure what Dynamique means in terms of Megane's. I said I was new :-) I'm in exactly the same position as you, except I'm a week down the line and I can make an educated guess (I worked with Renault on ECU standards 20 years ago). I believe the story is this... The window motor modules...

Re: Megane 2006 Dynamique hard top window problem

I'm new to Renault Megane. Are you referring to one of the hard-top convertibles? (i.e. CC model)? I'm assuming so. Assuming you are, mine did exactly the same thing on Friday, about three weeks after I bought it. I'm considering pursuing the dealer warranty, but life's too short. If it's a CC, bad ...

Re: cam belt or chain

Unless I'm very much mistaken that's a K-type engine and will have a belt. But why do you ask????

These need changing every 100K miles or (IME) every five years to be on the safe side. Belts deteriorate with usage AND time, as I discovered the hard way :-(

Renault Watford? Or independent specialist?

I normally have my old cars main-agent serviced, but I don't know have any experience main agents for Renault. I'm between Renault Watford and Renault West London. From what I've read elsewhere, West London is a good bet. Or are there any good independent specialists in outer NW London I should cons...

Radio help please!

So this Megane MkII CC Privilege... It's got zero documentation with it. I managed to find the manual in PDF for the car, but there is nothing about the radio. Renault's web site isn't exactly helpful in this respect either. Okay, I can figure most things out by pushing buttons but I'd like a manual...

Can I just change the instrument cluster?

When I bought my car a few weeks ago, it was less than clean inside. Yuck! It's had some hard scrubbing. Unfortunately the instruments were covered in grime. After an attempt to clean them, the lower LCD is no longer working. I suspect that some liquid got down and the contacts need cleaning. Questi...

Just bought a Megane MkII CC "for fun"

I've just bought a 2007 CC on impulse, as I liked the Renault 19 and I fancied a convertible for once in my life. I've had Volvo Estates for 30 years, starting with a 245. Unfortunately the previous owner appears to have have had a cleanliness problem. It's had to be well scrubbed inside to remove t...
