Trip computer display going off momentarily.
Yesterday I noticed my trip computer display went off for a fraction of a second. I then started keeping an eye on it and every so often it would go off and come back on again, for up to a second. The backlighting was unaffected, just the 'writing' disappeared. Anyone had this issue?

Re: Rear wiper not working on '06 Hatchback. SOLVED!
SOLVED. I went out and tried making the wiper work by connecting a battery directly to it. I could hear the motor trying to go but the arm wasn't moving. I tried moving the arm manually and it wasn't moving a millimetre. I used a bit more force and got it moving slightly. I then saw just a little mo...

Re: Rear wiper not working on '06 Hatchback.
I'm hoping it is just a broken wire as that would be a low-tech fix. I'm just waiting for someone to tell me whether that is likely on the h/b and where to access for testing. Thanks.

Rear wiper not working on '06 Hatchback.
The rear wiper doesn't work at all. It worked fine before the long dry spell. I've checked the fuse. I've checked to see if power is arriving at the motor - it isn't. I've looked on here and can't find anything really helpful. It seems that the power comes from the passenger multiplex module behind ...

Re: 1.5dci post-water pump change airlock in system
Thanks for that. I've found the bleed screw on the thermostat housing. I understand that there is one in the bulkhead area, on the heater hose. Presumably I'd have to remove the wipers and bulkhead tray to access that. I have got a lot more coolant in the system now and much less air! When removing ...

1.5dci post-water pump change airlock in system
Changed the timing belt and water pump. Now I seem to have air in the system. Gauge doesn't move, coolant in header tank stays high even though I know it lost 2 or 3 pints. I've tried squeezing the top and bottom hoses running and not running. Tried disconnecting the engine end of the top hose - coo...

Megane 2 diagnostics.
Is there an inexpensive diagnostic tool that will do EVERYTHING on my 1.5 dCi? I have an ELM327 that I use with a laptop but that only does the engine. What can I use to deal with everything else?

Trip computer accuracy. Megane 2 1.5dCi 86.
I've had my 100,000 mile 1.5dCi for a few weeks now and it has averaged an actual 57mpg over 900 miles of running around in mostly rural or semi-rural Lincolnshire. The trip computer indicates that it has done 65mpg. Is this typical of the inaccuracy of a trip computer?

Changing the headlamp main beam bulbs.
Hi, I've had my 1.5dCi 86 for 2 days. I've changed the dipped beam bulbs. My question is - how do you change the main beam bulbs? I've seen no mention. Presumably the whole headlamp assembly has to come out as it does for the indicator bulb. What of the sidelamp bulbs? Thanks.

Liking my 2006 1.5 dCi 86!
Got my Megane 2 days ago having been very wary of Renaults for many years. It's a great car! I've always loved the styling but doubted the reliability. Well, I think this one should be OK because a mechanic friend has looked after it for years and it's been no trouble. Had fun with the headlamp bulb...
