Re: Rear ABS mount corroded

Well done Haven't had this problem yet but read posts on it. Will be good if you or one of us can come up with a more permanent fix in the summer. Bob. To be honest, I think this is the least of my problems. I noticed that the caliper was still binding to the disc when I had the handbrake off (I wa...

Re: Rear ABS mount corroded

For anyone interested in this fix... I used Quick steel (only thing they had at my local Autosave) which is a putty that hardens like steel. And it worked!! ABS light has gone off... https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4691/39554910511_4de938ee1d_k.jpg 20180107_123118 by Andrew Bilsland , on Flickr finge...

Rear ABS mount corroded

OK, so I've read a few posts on this as its quite a common problem. ABS sensor has come off its mount. I need a fix so it'll pass its MOT. What have people done to fix it on? I was just going to araldite (epoxy) it on for the MOT next week and will have the rest of the year to address the issue bett...

Re: Glow plug changing.

I had to remove the injector brace (metal C looking clamp) to allow my socket to get over the glow plug. With regards to the air intake, I'm assuming you're talking about the large tube going over the engine? If so, just undo the bolt holding it on to the bracket and move it aside. If not, fancy tak...

Oil leak from somewhere

Hi guys, I noticed an oil leak in the megane. It's leaking down to the engine mount (the gearbox one under the car). Picture shows a bit of wet oil from the engine bay. Under hard acceleration and high revs, I think the oil is spilling out somewhere. Can you guys give me some guidance on where to st...

Re: rear abs mount

A second hand sensor from ebay, glued in place almost worked . ABS fault would register at 15mph Turns out they are super sensitive to positioning, i had placed it too close to the centre, Repositioned it today and after several hours of waiting for the glue to set - it seems to be behaving correct...

My 03 plate megane 1.5 dci has a check injection light on dash board it won’t start unless you pull the fuel pipe off at the pump and manually pump it till there is no air in the fuel pipe then connect the pipe up and it will start and run it has a new fuel filter in it and a replacement injector a...

Re: INJECTION FAULT - With a difference. 1.5Dci

Hi, when you say 'not even a crank' do you mean the engine doesn't turn over, or do you mean not trying to fire. The air in the fuel system is probably down to the quick release connectors, over time the seals go hard it seems. l fixed this on my car by replacing the connectors with 10mm pipe off e...

INJECTION FAULT - With a difference. 1.5Dci

Hi all. I have read numerous threads on the dreaded (and very common) injection fault issues. But, mine is slightly unique I think. Problem: After leaving the car overnight to start in the morning, it won't start. Key in, clutch down, push ignition button... not a even a crank. Just one message: Inj...

Re: Dipstick guide tube. Will oil spill when removed?

I'm on an auction site that sounds like fleeBay, looking to buy a new dipstick. I've seen several lengths advertised for my megane... Can someone guide me to the right length I should be looking for? I.e length from bottom of dipstick to where it stops/meets the top of the guide tube. Would a metal ...

Re: Dipstick guide tube. Will oil spill when removed?

I didn't need to take the tube off in the end. I used some extra long crocodile forceps to reach down and grab it.

Re: Dipstick guide tube. Will oil spill when removed?

Hi, l had this happen on a clio 1.5 dci, l presume they are basically the same. l used a thin drill in the plastic bit left in the housing and screwed a long thin screw into it and it was that good l never replaced the dip stick. lf you want to remove the housing tube, l believe they are just a ver...

Dipstick guide tube. Will oil spill when removed?

Hi, Another one to add to the list... Top part of the dipstick snapped off from the rest of the body. I have the ring pull and the first o-ring only left over. Question is: Will any oil spill out if I removed the dipstick tube or is the oil level above where it connects into the sump? Also, an I rig...

Re: Plastic sounding clicking from steering wheel

I believe this was quite a common problem on this era of Megane... I had the same problem, and yes it was the airbag rotary connector. The airbag rotary connector is also known as the clock spring. Thanks mate, is it one of these I need? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-MEGANE-II-CLOCK-SPRING-AIR...
