Re: Air conditioning not working

Hi, when you look at stuff on you tube, remember it doesn't have to be specifically megane, they are all basically the same. As for that wire, don't know what it is and will look on mine tomorrow, but is it the same colour as what's going to the a/c clutch? l have a Haynes manual but have found it p...

Re: Air conditioning not working

Hi, you should be able to test the clutch by disconnecting it and connect direct to battery, should hear a click at least. I think this is on you tube worth watching if you're not sure. When l test stuff direct like this, l usually use a bulb in line and if it lights up there's a circuit. Let us kno...

Re: Can’t get in

Hi, l had this, because it's rarely used, the emergency key bit needs a soaking with wd40, eventually mine worked. If it doesn't work try this, remove the engine under cover and clip battery charger to the thick starter wire (+) and other (-) to earth anywhere on engine or body. Once it starts charg...

Re: New MOT regs

Hi, well done on the pass. Don't know if yours has a DPF, but it's worse now if you've got one. With the expense and liability of the DPF,for those who don't do high mileage, l reckon many will be returning to petrol. My 1.9dci doesn't have one so will run it till something major goes, then will dec...

Re: White smoke from exhost

Hi,
look for coolant level dropping or bubbles in coolant tank.
If that seems normal, it's most likely injector problem. You need to do a leak off test to find which one.
When you do find it, please let us know.
Good luck
Bob.

Re: Air conditioning not working

Hi, if there's no pressure in the system, it won't work. It could be just a re-gas but beware it could turn out expensive depending on where and how it's leaking. My son lives in Australia and uses a/c all the time and no troubles it seems. It's a system that needs using regular and that doesn't hap...

Re: 1.9 dci

Hi, any electrical or sensor fault would give a code, also if no rail pressure, it won't start. The lumpy tick over could have been to do with the work you did, they say to allow the pcm time to adjust. It's the cutting out that matters, if starved of fuel l believe the dash warning knows that somet...

Re: 1.9 dci

Hi, I'm an old school bloke too, but if anything is lighting up then there should be a fault code stored. You do need a code reader nowadays to put you in the right direction. It's a long way round the barn to keep on guessing. If no fault code then it's fuel related like air in system or fuel filte...

Re: Steering arm has relative movement at its fixings

Hi,
check the gaiter because if it's gone hard it will keep coming off, mine did.
Plus, while the track rod end or inner tie rod is off, it's easy to do the gaiter.

Re: Steering arm has relative movement at its fixings

Hi,
sounds like you need a n/s rack gaiter, they tend to go hard and need to be flexible. The other must be the track rod end or inner track rod on the same side.
Jack it up and find where the play is.

Hi,
important to read fault codes, this should put you in the right direction.
You can spend money just guessing and trying stuff.

Re: Bleeding Brakes !!!!!

Hi Phil, when l do brakes l find it best to first let the fluid fill up the system on it's own just open the nipples. Then bleed each wheel using the top off a kitchen cleaner spray to draw it through. You just need to find a bit off rubber pipe to fit the spray end and nipple, spray into a clean ja...

Re: Windows on convertible: work from console switch but not individually

Hi, further to the above, having got mine working the other day, today my window went down whether pressed up or down. I saw something on line and it worked ( least for now ) Sat in the car and double locked it. Unlocked it, opened the door, started engine and then the windows worked again. I've a s...

Re: Windows on convertible: work from console switch but not individually

Hi, just been working on my windows ( again ). They are very prone to connection problems at the temics and it's been a long wet winter. I can only advise to clean thoroughly all the connectors for the temics, costs nothing but a pain l know. Got mine working ( again ) can only hope you do too. Bet ...
