Re: Dephaser or Oil

Hi,
I guess if it's due for an oil change, that would eliminate one thing any way.
The dephaser works on an oil pressure system using solenoids to open oil valves to alter the timing slightly, as I understand it.
It would be the first port of call, so to speak.
Let us know how it goes.

Re: Engine Oil Leak - Where is it coming from?

Hi, I am not fully conversant with the petrol engine, but if you thoroughly clean it off then regularly look at it, you should see where it's coming from. Remember that tiny spatters of oil can move upwards as well as downwards when car is moving. If there are no drips underneath and the oil isn't g...

Re: No working brakelights

Hi,
I think you need to fit a new brake light switch and also check the earths for the lights, possible break in a wire that runs through the tailgate for the third brake light.
Process of elimination, if still the same go back over whatever you did when doing the fan.
Good luck
Bob.

Re: Megane injectors

Hi, I had to code the injectors on a 2003 clio 1.5 dci once, so pretty sure yours are coded too. If you can get good enough diagnostics system, it will show what the codes and order number are. If I remember correctly, the injectors number 1-4 starting at the gearbox end, but check to make sure. In ...

Re: megane 11 1.5dci

Hi, it's unlikely that both keys have gone bad if they were ok before can only imagine somehow the battery has gone dead or completely drained overnight. Depending on how mechanically minded you are, it would pay to remove the engine undercover and connect a battery charger up to the positive lead c...

Re: Knocking/ticking on turning and proportional to speed

Hi, it's well worth checking out the new parts on ebay. You often get the measurements given and in most cases you can message the sellers with your reg no to confirm which are suitable. Also eurocarparts use the reg no then you can take note of part numbers etc. If the car runs well and without oth...

Re: Wipers don't work, have checked all the usual stuff.

Hi Konrad, I just had to take the interior uch, I didn't take the key although he asked if I had it with me, it would have helped I guess. I found this bloke on ebay and luckily he wasn't far away, so try your ebay and social media if you're on it. If you find someone they will tell you what to send...

Re: Wipers don't work, have checked all the usual stuff.

Had all this type of malfunction on a Clio I got for my grandson. I took the ecu to a man to repair it, it was done in 30 minutes, but while there I saw the equipment he was using. It was very very sophisticated stuff. I'm no expert but I think you are dealing with chips. It cost £35 but it was here...

Re: UPC question

Hi, I don't think so, try them one by one and you'll know then if it matters. I think it'll be the alarm and locking if there is a difference. When I once had one repaired on a Clio, the repairer asked for the key with the unit. Good luck and please let us know the outcome. Bob ps next time you're i...

Re: Auto Gearbox

Hi, from my limited knowledge of modern day autos the answer is yes. The gearbox has it's own ecu that switches solenoids to change the gears. Most have gone from the old reliable pressure valves to electronics to make it change gear quicker. If the fluid and filter are ok, I think you need an auto ...

Re: Clutch pedal on floor and can't engage gear.

Fingers crossed, pleased you're up and running. If you don't see the necessity for that, just wait till you get a newer car. In the summer my daughter-in-law came over from Australia for a few weeks. She hired a Vauxhall Mokka, sometimes I had to move it to get my car out. My drive is on a slope and...

Re: Auto Gearbox

Hi,
I don't have an auto box but my 1.9 dci isn't at 2k at 70 mph.
I would think it's certainly not in top gear. The ecu message is there to let you know that it needs attention.
Good luck
Bob.

Re: Upc fault

Hi, the interior multiplex module, body control module, which I think you are referring to, everyone calls it something different, does control the wipers. Whether it needs programming or not, I don't know but the supplier should surely know. I have to say that damp and bad connections sounds like y...

Re: Wipers don't work, have checked all the usual stuff.

Hi Konrad, that seems too high from posts l have read, unless the battery was pretty flat. If the battery has 12v, l don't think it should be more than 14v and hold at 12-13 with all switched on, lights etc. Could you try disconnecting the alternator or take the belt off and see if the wipers work o...
