Re: Megane 2 hazard lights flashing! Please help

Unfortunately the flashing lights have came back on while I was sleeping and the car battery must be dead. The key card now won't unlock the car as I was going to remove the car battery and try a new one. How can I get into the car to open the bonnet. Please help There should be a section on the bo...

Re: mpg low

I believe official figures are only 40mpg so you're likely not going to got more than 35mpg in most situations. Try taking it on a good run and see what happens (but reset the meter). Also maybe try driving differently round town to see if it comes up, but I'd say it was relatively normal. If there'...

Re: Megane 2 hazard lights flashing! Please help

It's unlikely to be related but when I was checking all the fuses both in the car and under the bonnet taking some of them out turned the hazzards on for seemingly no reason, so it's something you could check, make sure they're all in properly at least inside the car. Don't try to get to the ones un...

Re: Headlamp Bulb replacement.

Yeah I had this happen to me on Sunday as well but luckily it didn't die when I was on the dark country roads. It really is a shocking design, but really that tends to sum up Renault electrics and mechanical parts. "Yeah I had this happen to me on Sunday as well but luckily it didn't die when ...

How do you swap out a dipped beam bulb?

Hi, long time no see! I was wondering how you change the dipped beam bulb in a megane, as at some point yesterday whilst I was out driving, the right hand bulb died and I need to change it before Thursday. https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Renault_Megane_1.5_2008/p/car-parts/lighting1/car-electrics...

Are we talking a bricked engine here? (I am aware that some other cars will survive one)

As far as I know, it's game over if the cambelt goes.

Bah.

Could maybe be worth it if you plan to keep the car for a bit and it won't last (and obviously providing there's nothing else wrong ;) ). if it's cheaper for you to get another one then forget it i suppose.

Re: First gear sluggish and high bite

The bite is fairly high on them, and the car being sluggish pulling off seems to be normal on diesels (at least if my car is anyhting to go off with the super turbo lag) but with a petrol car, I'm not sure. Maybe try pulling off with power going on more gradually rather than hard down right away, as...

Re: Turbo lag .

I don't think there is anything wrong, I think thats just how it is with the engine. My 1.5dci is the same pulling off where it does nothing for a bit before finally moving but is then fine when on the go unless the speed gets too low in 2nd or something. I wouldn't worry about it and just not go fo...

In 1st at low speeds it's something they all do I think as if your clutch is anything like mine, it's pretty sharp.

Have you tried plugging in a diagnostics device to see if there's anything else that the car thinks is wrong?

My Megane 1.5dci 106 does about 50mpg normally with normal driving, but it has gone as high as 55mpg.

Re: Air con not working

Had it regassed and still didn't work so put it on diagnosis it came up with pressure switch which I changed still no difference but if I put power to compressor it kicks in so thought it could be a fuse but to remove battery and ecu to check fuse is mad!! Yeah i took out the fuse box earlier today...
